That was my guess... that they're not expecting any of these guys to be back in the near future and picked up "insurance."

bottom line is I doubt they told him he will not play much. He will play unless he just flat out stinks. then maybe he comes out.

The entire free world knows your position. Thats never been a mystery to anyone. Every time a kid gets scratched that means, they are not rebuilding. We get it. Personally, I would rather have Jake Allen for a 3 than Johnson for a 4, but whatever. The flyers traded a good right puckmoving top 4 dman while in a playoff race which could seriously jep their chances of making it. They are rebuilding, but cant we at least try to make the playoffs now that we got our 1st rd pick? Dont we want Frost, Tippett, York, Foerster, Drysdale, Ersson and others in the playoffs?

Imagine what the flyers record would be if Torts did all the coaching that you want him to do. Although most think he has this team overachieving, and no one predicted we would be in a playoff spot, pretty sure we would be undefeated or at least leading the division if he did what you want him to do. Leaving alot of points on the table.

You're wrong. You don't know my position. You're also not a spokesman for anyone. I'll give you a perfect example of how I don't think it's just about playing all young players. I'm one of the few people who wanted Couturier re-signed and not traded. One of the biggest reasons why is that the Flyers are weak at center. I wanted him to take on a lot of the heavy lifting at the center spot, so players who weren't ready for that workload. Weren't elevated to a role they weren't ready for, such as Frost and potentially hurting their development. Plus his ability to make players around him better when healthy. A player like that greatly helps with the rebuild.
As far as Brink is concerned. As a rebuilding team, it makes zero sense to scratch Brink while playing players like Deslauriers and Atkinson.
Yes, if the team is making the playoffs, we want all the young players to get the experience of it. So why trade for Johnson? LOL. You're going against your own criticism of my position. Yes, I want them all to get the experience if they make the playoffs. Including Zamula and Brink. Even Ginning and Attard if neccessary. So what is your issue?


One move does not make a rebuild. The Flyers wanted to re-sign Walker but at the right price. They traded Walker because they didn't want to meet his price.

I'll say this much, there is going to be some serious competition to get onto the blueline and stay there. Particularly, as guys get healthy. Popcorn may be required.
