They got Jake Allen - mickel25
So they didn’t get a goalie yet. |

HAd to read up on Gurianov.
#12 overall in 2015.
A 20 goal season.
26 years old.
UFA after this season.
The kind of reclamation project that may fit the teams timeline. - MBFlyerfan
He has skill and size, very inconsistent. Kind of similar to Nichushkin as a maybe comeback project

I have no problem with that trade. Allison was done as a Flyer. Kid could pan out. Now that Johnson trade, WTF! |

Jersey got Allen out of Montreal..not much of an upgrade - TheFreak
I've been looking at Capfreindly and their trade list. They didn't list that. I guess that means the price for Markstrom and others was too high. Jersey is probably smart not to overpay. Get Hamilton back next year and address goal in the Summer.

You don't have a hard on for a 35 yr old R handed defensemen? Who didn't want to play for Buffalo and has been "sick" for most of the season?

He also had a decent playoff run in 19-20 Dallas. 27 games 9 goals 8 assists 17 points.

He’s their goalie for next year. Has another year on his deal. Got him at 50% retention. |

He is really fast with skill. Kind of an enigma. Looks unmotivated at times. Maybe Torts can fix him and he can help Michkov in his transition if he works out.

Need bodies to block shots. Larger ones preferable. Welcome EJ - Just5
Gonna play 10 D. Stack them up in a line across the front of the goal. Block everything.

Meh - A 4th in a weaker draft for some insurance on the blueline in case we need to replace the RH we just lost with Walker... Doesn't floor me but I'm not upset.

He's probably a Phantom. Not a Torts type of player.
Meawhile EJ is exactly the type of guy Torts loves. |

Do they owe him an explanation? They traded for him, so he has no choice but to play the role that is mapped for him.
Staal is different as he was a free agent obviously. - Flyers1218
buff didn;t move him unless he was ok with it. you think he will be ok with it not playing?
some peeps need to give their fn head a shake |

Any team can use speed like that. If Torts gives him a role and he buys in it could work out.

I get your gripes with Torts. And I think they are valid.
But how can what he’s done with a team widely expected to finish as one of the three worst in the league be ignored.
We’ve gone through so many coaches who had way more talent that came up small. Teams that didn’t play with effort and a locker room oozing with entitlement.
I don’t love benching kids in a rebuilding year and his shelf life doesn’t last long, but let’s face it…. he wins. Pretty much everywhere but Vancouver. And he has a Cup. He might be the best coach they’ve had since Lavy. |

Sounds like it. Doesn’t make much sense for them to get him now, with 19 games left, and then have to buy him out. Why trade what they did for 19 games? |

Gurianov's not really a guy who's gonna play a bottom-six role and sell out to block shots and such tho, like Sedlak did. And it's a bit late in the season for him to really work his way into Torts' good graces.
I imagine the trade was just two teams giving two guys a change of scenery. |

Briere has the right idea. Just start stacking bodies to sacrifice to the shot blocking god. |
