Most team do it. I don't see the issue. the tears and angst are enjoyable, tho.

What else could he do? ... he didn't have much to trade with that other teams wanted and they're already close to the salary cap.

We could argue that he could have traded one of his core players but I'm not sure the organization would have given him the green light to do so.

Also, not many contending teams currently has the cap space to accomodate those big 10 millions contracts. If any of them is moved it will be over the summer months ... if they don't they'll be in the same situation next spring.
