Give it time ... many teams are starting to get very vocal about it (per TSN analysts).

Sure it's currently not against the rule as they're taking advantage of a loophole but abusing the LTIR goes against a sense of fairplay and the league's credibility (not good for ticket sales).

Oh damn Carey Price is never playing again, but won't retire. Sounds like the Canadiens are cheating by having access to the extra $10.5 million by him being on LTIR

The difference is he's not coming back to play in the playoffs, if the Vegas players are on LTIR then why are they allowed to play in the playoffs?

oh I can definitely attack what you call an argument.

as I said today I don't find they're "cheaters", since they are technically abiding by the rules or lack thereof, but they're still being dishonest with the LTIR by making sure the player's recovery and insertion in the lineup coincides perfectly with the start of the playoffs, year after year. I find the league is the main culprit for allowing it but I still hate VGK or other teams for doing it, it is what it is.
