I think he's more of a Toews or Bergeron comp. High motor, 200 ft game (already) and should be good for 65-80 points when he figures out the NHL.
Not "huge" but 6'0 and 190 as a 17 year old isn't tiny. By the time he's in his 20s he should be a solid 200 ish .
Bergeron was 6'1 and listed as 195 and Toews was 6'2 and listed at around 200. I don't think the missing inch or two is going to make a difference in his ability to play a heavier game like those two did. Bergeron played a long time and was pretty durable even though he wasn't built like a brick poop house.
A very nice change of pace player to compliment Bedard. - fattybeef
Just like Toews and Bergeron points to Celebrini means jack unless they come in the process of WINNING. A hockey player........

Celebrini and Jiricek in the first round works for me, then trade one of the young defensemen, and sign a free agent forward or two. That will do it for me this offseason. If Celebrini is not there, then I’ll take Lindstrom and Jiricek. - Angotti
Lindstrom is due back from injury soon. With the Memorial Cup just around the corner I can't wait to see him play again. .... If he clicks you've got a true power forward at 6ft 4in 230lb who can skate, shoot, score in 9 different ways and knock people down. And, he's a centerman in jrs!!
These kinds are so coveted that you see team after team, yr after yr, decade after decade overdraft and overpay someone with those skills hoping they translate.

I think I'd be okay with this guy, if Wiz and this analysis is on target. We need a another guy who can put the puck in the net.

Did Wiz say Eiserman has a chance to crack 50 goals every yr in the Bigs? If so, he's right.

J, I walk with a cane and can defend all but Bedard, with my rusty bent goalie skates on, from the Hawks!!
Edit: that game v CHI was the first time Boqvist did not disgust me. Maybe he can be of some use in the NHL. Doubt it, but maybe. - Mr Ricochet
Glad to hear that update on Boqvist if only for my own personal reason being that when drafted he has really impressive skating shooting ability and had scored often in pressure situations. I believe his game winning goal for Team Sweden in junior was in fact WJC but I am uncertain if that was the tournament winning goal or a qualification round win. So he has a history of concussions and basicly failed in Chicago. I would just like him to experience success - become a valuable contributor- before his career ends due to concussions
Now as for the Chicago dmen each playing in same lineup for Rockford last night
I cannot draw a conclusion from watching one game in person. Also I didn’t intend to watch Allen and Roos less closely but I just really liked what I saw in Kaiser Phillips and Del Mastro. Crevier lot to like too but I wish he would perform with more natural agression even if just pushing back harder in a scrum after whistle blows play dead
I really like the two way capable quartet we could have in Chicago. Preview if it was last night I do believe KD vision is for each member of the blueline crew to be mobile and not weak or bad in defending. Additionally each dman two way capable with perhaps one dman especially good carrying the mail and generating points while several if the dmen are not going to be shy to check or knock down the opponent
That being said each of these guys are developing. Obviously just before Phillips and Crevier were demoted, the coaching staff tiold them to start hitting delivering more checks. With Phillips and Crevier both are not naturally big body checkers
But KK will when he feels he needs to. And both Allen and DelMaestro are very willing
One thing I might be reaching a bit to claim and only based upon last night….but I think DelMaestro plays and thinks the game well, has smarts, plays safe in control and can do anything reasonably well. I can see him as a leader. I need to watch closely over a series of games about shirt stop and starts but carrying the puck up ice he skates fine enough. Not blazing but in control moves well
I had the Rockford radio broadcast on cell phone to my ear while watching which is somewhat helpful if I wasn’ sure who just made a play etc al ….on the radio delay I heard so that was helpful
But between period guest was Roos who said that he was working to be more physical this year
Roos just looked more often than. It just trying to play a supportive safe game and I really wanted to see his skating and running a Pp on display. But Kauser then DekMastri and Phillips were main guys on Pp
That Kauser making good plays smart plays aggressive carrying puck had several forays in 2-1 breaks especially period one. Really like Phillips skating and skill. Crevier makes good passes up ice accurate take to tape. I want to see him use stuck more like Vlasic
Seems that Elbows saw game too so welcome his viewpoint too
Dach will peal off go to cover his man. Skates ok gets involved in plays looks like he is willing to be aggressive
Reichel was involved in offensive plays throughout contest seems more often passing but looking to be opportunistic too. Definitely a skill guy who will help generate scoring opportunities if he plays with other skill linemattes- I can see why people say this
There are several veteran AHL career fringe at best forwards but they can make plays and less minute playing forwards like Sarella Lupien (sic) even the goon guy up from ECHL will hit, can skate fine and have some ability
No crappy players, very deep roster the defense can be pretty good although still see some carelessness in turnovers at this AHL level. Actually I am not convinced the two so called prospects in goal are more than adequate but I will not say this is unequivocally the case with the goaltending

Sounds like Edstrom may be this type of player Just acquired by San Jose in I believe Hertle trade with Vegas. Scouts love this kid, a fast riser in the prospect rank last year who went #23 overall. When he makes Sharks roster they will have three top young forwards- two already taking baby steps with the team this season |

Just be careful not to draft any prospects who turn out to be an “Edsel” you know slow like the center Bowman got from Nashville |

IIRC Edstrom looked like a crack 3C. Honest, 2 way, north-south..... Think he's the guy I hoped fell to the Hawks in rd2.

You know what, you take any top 6 guy in the NHL, put him at D with the benefit of seeing the play in front of him to pick any lane, that allows him a 20 ft head of steam, who has ZERO concerns about defending and he'll be a pt per game guy in the NHL. ANY top 6 guy.
I thought, and posted so at the time (predraft) Boqvist is the worst defending Dman I had ever seen....... It's only sports, not like Kennedy getting shot or a man landing on the moon, but I remember every nanosecond of StanBowPops&McD drafting Boqvist with Dobson still on the board.
Bastards.

Hey Rico, speaking of Dobson, on a PpG pace. Also Roy might just get the Isle’s into the playoffs |

Jay. Del Mastro and Kaiser were easily the 2 best D-men last night. Roos was definitely more physical than I have seen from him previously.
Allan wasn't bad but he was prolly the 5th.6th best D-man on the Hogs last night. |

Vlasic made a real nice play at the blue line to keep the puck in and the Hawks got a 3 on 1 as a result. Vlasic getting more confident with the puck.
And on cue...score! |

I’m convinced Jones isn’t even looking at the net. He’s just shooting and hoping the shot gets through.
I wonder if Sanford has ever played on the power play at any level before? |

In his draft yr in the Memorial Cup he was a beast. Good to see the big RIGHT shot Dman doing well....... Roy's QMJHL team was fantastic last yr. Speed, layers, well coached, well prepared and executed. A fun team/brand to watch.
Hope he does well and is in the Bigs to stay.
I see Kempe is back. IMO one of the most underrated NHLers. Big, fast and seemingly always dangerous.

I just think that NYI have to win with defense and goaltending and not expect their offense to go off like fireworks
There are some good pieces but cmon’ Barzal isn’t scoring a lot, Horvat & Nelson are good but where is the big .gunner. Lee hadn’t scored much too
Not just the intangible of Roy’s coaching but also Pullok and Pelech are back
A descent team, sure. Going far if they make the post season. No, cannot see it happening

Prolly not even in Pee-wee.
KD needs to get some real NHL players for next season. Not looking for any big names or anything but guys that are legit NHL players.
Nice pass and finish. |

What's with the 12 year old public address announcer? - Dieselhead
I think it's women in hockey weekend. ...... I guess it's good if it's limited but what I find offensive his Hockey Night in Canada cuts into valuable/limited time to say even a syllable about the women's pro league let alone show highlights.
All for girl's hockey but if I wanna see it I'll find their game.
