I'm going to say what many here won't:
Rempe is a predatory player. His goal is to hit the opposition HARD every chance he gets. At his size and weight, when he hits a player ( especially into the end boards ) it is going to HURT them. Players on the other team, especially defenseman have to account for his whereabouts on the ice at all times. We just saw in the Blues game, Parayko held up going back for a loose puck because Rempe was bearing in on him. Parayko is 6"6" 230 lbs. and he STILL was less than enthusiastic about retrieving the puck.
The Rangers have never really had a player like this. The closest comparison that I can up with was Darius Kasparitis and we got him in the latter stages of his career.
Rempe can be a valuable member of this team, but he has to play within the rules. He is young and I think of him as a puppy. Anyone that has owned a puppy knows how frustrating a puppy's behavior can be. Hopefully, he can learn and grow from this, because if he can play within the rules, he will be a very valuable member of this team going forward...

100% agree with this. I'm just glad he is playing with us and not against us.
The problem is Rempe doesn’t know how to throw a check. He has big man syndrome in that he has probably been bigger than most kids his entire life and never shown how to actually use his body especially with the size disparity.
And to anyone that says it was malicious intent I call BS.
He will het suspended and deserves to and hopefully someone can teach him. Brian Boyle has been hanging around lately why not get him out there and give the kid some hitting lessons.

If Rempe didn't know how to hit, he wouldn't have gotten passed junior hockey. He's trying to make an impact every shift to make sure he doesn't get sent right back down to the Pack. He needs to learn to control his body and emotions. I think we've seen that he has enough of a game to stick around if he can learn this lesson, if just barely. Hopefully, he can adjust.

Put it this way, 4th line went from being a negative to a positive in terms of expected goals since Rempe was called up. If he can figure out what he should and shouldn't do, he has the look of player than can play on a 4th line.

He refused to leave the bench. Needed to send a message or would have complete anarchy. Plus Torts couldn’t give a crap that they fined him - airjan23
I get that, Jan. But, how many times have we seen a coach upset and call the ref over for a chat about it? They never refuse. This time McCauley wouldn't and Torts wanted to stay to have his say/explanation. I don't think that's out of line. If McCauley had talked to him and he kept flipping out and refused to leave, big difference, IMO.
