1.33. I was trying to do math in my head and failing. I cannot imagine we want that much dead cap in 25/26 - nails
At this point, since the Flyers really are not in a position to go free agent shopping, no more dead cap space for now. Let these contracts expire. Let Michkov and Bonk and Barkey develop and get to the point where they’re gonna actually be playing for the Flyers. Let Tippett, York and Drysdale gain the needed experience, and let all of this be a natural progression. Please do not rush these players. Then and only then will the cap space be vital to resign players the Flyers are gonna keep, and to add players through FA or trades that will make this team a contender by complementing a solid core. Until then, no more wasted cap space. |

Did Colorado disclose Johansen's injury? Was he hiding it? Did his agent know? It seems to me that this would be the source of the problem more so than anything that had to do with Gauthier. Especially since that agent represents other players on the Flyers. |

I'd like to know the details also. You're not allowed to waive and demote an injured player. It's very fuzzy.

Lol . Very simple. He is capable of pulling off a nice play hear and there. Otherwise he is a disaster. My hope is he plays well the remainder of the season and then they trade him - Keyser soze
Frost is no more or less a disaster than any other forward on that team except TK... |

Last night Frost showed why so many refuse to give up on this guy. I thought he had a very strong game and generated scoring chances that this team desperately need someone to do. Beyond his 1G and 1A he helped create space several times. Where I do agree with Torts, is the consistency of his play. We know he can be “that” guy in the lineup to generate scoring chances…we saw it last night.
Hopefully he can get on a run because they are going to need those chances generated to be able to get through this month in a playoff position. The games are getting tougher and tighter. |

Just received my Hockey News future watch article. MM is #1!! Guess who is #2? Yeah, that Cutter guy. The only other Flyer in the top 100 prospect list is Bonk at #44. The guy I wanted the Flyers to draft with that pick (Perrault) is #12. Hmmm... Flyers are ranked 10th overall. Their average draft ranking (ADR) is 7th since 2020. Need centers and top notch defenders. |

Gotta believe if there were any shenanigans with this trade, Briere would contest it. |

I had a chuckle this afternoon when Steve Kouleas said that Torts' tough love of Morgan Frost has really been a positive in his development this season. This was on Sirius/XM NHL Network (The Power Play). Marty Biron basically agreed with him. LMAO!! - Phillywhiteout
It may be fine how he’s approached frost other than the lack of playing time. He’s played well so give him more ice. |

Maybe. But I think he is probably weighing the cost and doesn't want to lose that first round pick. Either way, it seems weird since you cant waive an injured player. Its just confusing. |

The problem is Frost has these noticeably strong games against teams like Arizona and San Jose. Where was he the weekend before when TK was out and the Flyers needed offense? I'm sorry, the kid has skill, but I agree with Torts, he is not consistent and so far anyway, has not shown up in games against tough opponents. Now I know some will say, "but wait, Frost got two assists against Tampa in a 6-2 Flyers win", but those were goals scored by individual plays and had very little to do with Frost. Now the goal Farabee scored the other night was 100% due to Frost's outstanding play to intercept a pass and then saucer an unbelievable pass to Farabee. I want to see those plays against Boston, and Toronto and Florida and the Rangers coming up. I want to see Frost make those plays every single game; whether his linemates finish off the play is less important to me in evaluating Frost. I want Frost to shoot first when he gets the puck in the slot area. I want him to have more confidence in his own ability to score. If he does this, then he is worth the wait IMO. |

Incorrect.....many of the guys slected form 14 on would be the Flyers 2 ranked prospect and thats only because for some asinine work done by other GMs, Michcov, by the grace of the Hockey Gods, fell to them - THE BLACK HAND

Find it interesting that Flyers fans focus their female doging and moaning on Frost now, just like they did with Sanheim, and TK before. The latter two eventually stepped up and turned out pretty good and Frost is likely gonna do the same.
Meanwhile dudes like Hart, Provy and NP (who actually weren't anything special) were cut slack for years because they were once hyped as franchise saviors.

No doubt consistency is his issue, but what forward on this team, not named TK, is truly consistent (well ND is consistently bad so there is that)? It seems Tortorella is willing to "live" with the deficiencies of most others (Tippett's shooting inaccuracy and lax defense, Forrester very slow start, Farabees streakyness), but when it comes to Frost it seems there is another bar for him.... |

Or he just is not a very smart GM. Why trade for a guy that is going to saddle you with essentially another $2.8MM of dead cap space to go along with Peterson ($4MM), Ellis ($6MM), Hayes ($3.7MM) and TDA ($1.7MM). Someone is not thinking things through or looking past tomorrow, which has been a staple of Flyers management forever.
I still believe to this day that when Holmgren re-signed Pronger he thought it would NOT be classified a s a 35+ contract (or worse he did not know what a 35+ contract was). |

Did you bother to look up the % of points Frost has vs better teams, I won’t bother asking did you compare that to other Flyers players, you know, because you know who has the goods.

There’s nothing wrong with being critical. I mean, what’s really the ceiling for Morgan Frost to this point? My issue with Frost is becoming less about the player and more about the apologists. How quickly they get so offended and how quickly they come to his defense. You would think we were fighting over something that mattered, like children in divorce court. |

Joking aside, it sure seems like Shaw is being groomed for the head coach position.
Perhaps Torts plans on relocating upstairs after he's firmly established The Standard? - Tomahawk
Sounds good to me. Then take Rocky out into the woods and drive away as fast as you can. |

Just imagine how much better Farabee and Tippett would be as players if they were healthy scratched 12 times while actual trash played ahead of them.
The really funny thing is that Tippett is the only one of those three with bad defensive results, but he never gets called out for his poor defensive play, and never loses a minute of ice time. And in terms of points scored per game under Torts, he's barely ahead of Froster and Farabee.

Tippett - 0.63 P/GP
Frost - 0.58 P/GP
Farabee - 0.57 P/GP |
