The coach ran him straight into the ground first half of the season. He would never admit it but he is hurt.
- StepfordSam

Not shocked at all he's hurt.

WTF, he's out two years and you play him 20+ minutes a night to start the season.

Not able to watch the game but high danger scoring chances after 2 periods are 16-2 Toronto. Holy christmas.

Ersson 30th in save % among NHL starting goaltenders.

When he’s dialed in he’s money. He’s 24 years old and in his first full year as a rookie and may be running out of gas a bit. Inconsistency is expected for young goalies. Nothing to worry about. He’s got tons of talent.

I think he has promise but hard to say he's money when he has 50 NHL games played. As far as being young, he's basically one year younger than Carter.

24 is pretty young for an NHL goalie

Yotes and Sabres at least dull the pain.

Not disagreeing but before the year, many people on this board said Carter didn't fit the timeline for the Flyers being competitive and/or wanted him traded as soon as Ersson strung a few good games together.

I have said for years that Flyers hurt Carter's development bringing him up at 20 years old. Doesn't matter now because his career apparently was always going to end prematurely.

Flyers might make the PO by default.

If Frost could make a decent pass maybe these guys would convert their chances.

That wasn't due to Hart's age. It was due to his contract situation and the prospect of having to sign him to a 5-6M a year deal.

My guess would have been 5, not sure he deserved much more. Pretty much at 4 now so wouldn't be a huge increase.

Toronto looks like they are not even trying and getting bang bang goals.

I took a quick shower and Leafs score 3. This defense is crushing. Missing 3 of 6, 4 if including Walker in trade. Flyers have enough issues, but that defense is turning them into last year.

Yes, to your beloved Sabres! I don't follow them but hopefully they have a Frosty-ish player that you can fawn over. They will win a Cup before the Flyers, so you should definitely hitch your wagon to them.

Yea, unfortunately, it's going to keep getting uglier. I forget where I saw it, but pretty sure it's going to be a while before we see Seeler, Risto, or Drysdale. None of them are studs, but certainly better than what we have now.

Well, at least the Isles, Dead Wings and Suxas lost tonight, so not all is lost!

Yeah, this team is DOA against these higher quality teams with this defensive crew. I mean, Walker and Seeler were their best/steadiest defense pair all season, and they lost em both. Drysdale and Risto are what they are, but oh my what they have now. Take out either Staal or Johnson (he sucks!!!) and give Ginning another shot. It can't hurt.
