Drop the cable and go Hulu Live with ESPN+. Add Max and you are still cheaper than cable. I just did the comparison. Between Hulu Live and ESPN+ you can basically watch any sporting event that it televised in the US. - mickel25
You are missing the point... BTW, does the Hulu deal have NBC Sports Philly?... and I'd need Paramount+.
I'm getting a boatload of subscription services... I have a great selection of movies and shows to watch... but it is what I CAN NOT WATCH that irks me... I can't, and will not subscribe to everything... I'm a STH and I can't see all the Flyers games?... Same with Phillies, Sixers and Union... Only the NFL with their godly status... and I assume even with the NFL, if you are in another city, you have to subscribe to services to see certain games. Somebody must do something about all these subscription services and their highjackong of games. I imagine eventually they'll all merge or go belly up... but until then... I'm missing tonight's game. 😡 |

If you live in the NBC Sports Philly viewing area Hulu live has it. That's why I chose Hulu Live. It has all of the Philly channels. It also has a ton of sports channels. Oddly it does not offer the NHL network though.
The appeal of "cutting the cord" was not being roped into paying for stations I did not want. I feel like the industry has come close to doing a full 180 at this point.
For me Hulu Live with the ESPN+ bundle offers the best chance of seeing all Flyers games. Between the two it is $80ish. Hulu Live offers a great selection of live TV and sports. They also have original content that is available. I think Youtube TV is also a good choice.

I recently priced out dropping cable from Verizon and using You Tube Tv or Apple but the savings really weren’t that much for me. Maybe i looked at it wrong though.

There would be a riot in my house if we dropped our Shudder subscription. Yes we do routinely watch horrible 70's and 80's era horror movies. |

Past ~140 games he's been as about good as Farabee and Tippett at producing points, and much better defensively than the carrot top with the $50m contract. - Feanor
just shows how bad the flyers lack talent. |

Am I the only one who was not thrilled with the Tippett contract? It still feels like too much or too long...
Maybe I'm just not in love with his play. |

Except for TK, they all seem to have their disappearing moments. For some reason Frost is held to a higher standard. - mr4tno
The dopes who called him an AHL player in 21-22 can't get over how wrong they were, so they keep making up strange standards for judging his performance that they don't hold any other players on the team to. It's amazing. |

Verizon - Briere
Fios or 5g.
Sorry for all the questions. I am also looking. Fios and Tmobile internet are not available where I live. I am stuck with Xfinity.
My only option is Verizon 5g.

I live in Georgia and have Hulu, Espn+, disney plus. It is cheaper if you get all 3. I miss maybe a handful of games, under 10 because the blackout issue. I may miss less if I purchase the NHL channel.
There are rumors that the NFL wants to do something similar to what hockey does on ESPN+.
Don't like baseball nor do I care about baseball. So missing them does not matter to me. |

No, you're not the only one.
Can't really put my finger on it... he just seems like a one-trick pony to me. Plus nothing says "rebuild" like locking up a middle 6 player for 8 years. |

You used to talk about Sanheim a lot and how bad his contract was. Not so much this season. |

that is a bad contract. he aint anything special either. a solid 2nd pair guy, which he ahs pretty much always been. would trade him easily. wasnt much of a market for him last summer was there as the flyers tried to dump him? I know all GM's are dumb.
show me some stats that show he is a legit top pair guy. I know you have them.
actually i didn't talk about him much at all just laughed at you for thinking/saying he is a legit top pair dman.

Also not a fan.
I get that it's a bet on the future but there's a certain kind of player that you can hand 8-years of job security (and NTC) to and they stay engaged, locked in and motivated.... I'm just not sure Tipp is it.
Look what Johansen's deal did to him. |

Yep, Sanheim is the 40th highest paid defenseman in the NHL. Its not that bad a deal .

I have 5g. Verizon does have options to save some money by dropping certain channels you dont watch but I haven’t looked to far into that yet. Verizon, Comcast etc know the competition and for the most part have priced themselves accordingly. I just find it ridiculously expensive on a monthly basis. My house has 3 tvs so that drives the price up a bit.
Hulu and Apple were attractive but the only internet option i have us verizon ( comcast sucks) and when you factor the monthly internet cost. The savings were negligible.
Maybe ine day there will be a way to bundle streaming services together as a package to bring the cost down.

if they get rid of TK not as much a problem, though to have all that $ in those 2 wingers. not so sure about that |

Not to state the obvious but Tippett is a goal scorer. This team needs that skill set. That's why he got the deal. It is the kind of deal that if Tippett steadily improves. Can be a steal down the line. I personally don't think that Tippett is topped out as a player. There is room for growth. For the deal to work out though. He is going to have to increase his goal scoring and maintain that level consistently. Or drastically improve his all around play. right now, Tippett is a goal scorer and that's it. His all around game is not good. Tippett is the worst forward away from the puck on the team.

For me it was never about the AAV with Sanheim's deal. It was the term that I had an issue with.
I think Sanheim has had a good year for the most part. However, it's clear that he's not a top pairing defenseman and is ill suited for that role defensively.
