That may have been the plan for Gauthier. The Michkov playing center thing was the St. Petersburgh douche/coach trying something. He played wing all season for Sochi. - MBFlyerfan

No worries. Its the main reason why I am so worried because this team has no #1 center prospects, is unlikely to draft one even with the #1 picks they have, and will probably have to shell out big money in FA to acquire one when the time comes.
Im talking 15 million per year to McDavid....lol

You’re wasting your time. This forum is full of teenagers who don’t know better and nerds who fantasize about being one of the boys in the room.
It’s how after 50 years of failure they can still make money. |

The last thing the Flyers need to do is buy an aging top dollar elite player...even if that is McDavid.
They need a 25 and under elite center and those are slim pickings, maybe 5-6 established and a list of maybe/wanna be/could bes.

I agree wholeheartedly. Which is why I laugh at the thought of signing McJesus for 8 years at 15 million aav at the age of 30. They had better get Brayden Point/Pavel Datsyuk lucky in these next few drafts. |

To do that they need to take chances on skill and do a better job risk evaluation. This years draft have a few like Connelly who has tons of skill but had some off ice issues.
They need to hit on one, I’m tired of seeing the same teams get “lucky”. |

Listing Frost and Coots as your 3rd and 4th line centers is ridiculous. This team cracks me up. |

I agree. It's not often that a team gives up a young #1 center. They're like gold in the NHL. The Flyers are going to Flyer though and this so called rebuild. Won't last long.

Even just a Claude Giroux level hit would be great.

That wasn't just on Staal. Konecny made the same mistake twice. Staal caught flat footed and standing still and didn't move off the wall. Take a guess on where the puck is going to go and where you should go. Poehling didn't play it well. Most importantly, completely passive and non aggressive. Like they're afraid because of who is out there. They will kill you if you play like that.

Maybe not elite but that would be awesome. Then again you can’t get them if you don’t draft them.
The amount of players the Flyers have skipped is insane. It’s easy to look back at drafts and get sad who they were able to get, but the Flyers miss a lot of players that have the skill while the draft is taking place.
Other teams do it too…imagine if Boston selected Brazal, Connors and Chabot when everyone knew at the time they screwed up.

But they also hit grand slams with Bergeron at #45 and Brad Marchand at #71.

That is why the Leafs are not afraid to ice the puck. |
