That's basically up to fate. This is why some folks think it's rigged to save the Pens when they were floundering and of course da Hawks are a big market in the midwest. It's funny how that keeps happening and don't be surprised if Buttman finds a way to get the Pens back into prominence again soon.

So it’s a league conspiracy to keep the Flyers from prospering? How does that make sense? The Flyers are a big market club in the Northeast. It’s a better league when the Flyers are good. Have the Flyers had bad luck? Absolutely. They’ve also been incompetent. Combine those elements and here we are.

I honestly feel the pens will be tanking next year and will be picking top 3 .....and we will be picking12-14
You were spot on to not be concerned about the Leafs game. Another one you can put in the win column - MJL
You are purposely leaving out one important point, I said the Flyers can handle the Leafs if they are ON THEIR GAME. Where the Flyers on their game last night? Did they keep pucks out of the middle of the ice? Was Ersson sharp? Nice try though.
There isn’t a way to rebuild by “Tanking” The draft guarantees nothing. They had the second pick in 2017. How’d that work out? They also put up 54 points in 2006-2007 and got the second pick. They came way with a player who was a playoff healthy scratch. - PLindbergh31
That's what they're doing by playing Staal and Johnson. Freeing up roster spots for younger players to get playing time. I wonder who is going get scratched to satisfy Tortorella's fetish due to the Leafs game? - MJL
Brink took a restraining penalty, so I’m sure he’s on the God Emperor’s short list.

Your comment was you're not concerned about the Flyers because the Leafs are soft. You were wrong. Again.

My critique of Chicago (and I generally like the franchise) is that they should have lost that pick due to the scandal coverup. Friggin NJ lost a first for cap circumvention but Chicago got fined and had to have some people step down? How is that allowed. Answer because the league needs the Blackhawks to be relevant. Not a conspiracy but more of a business decision.

The leafs are on another planet skill wise than the flyers. Even without Marner. Their demise will be lack of depth, d and maybe goaltending when the playoffs hit. Fortunately for us, we won’t be in the dance to get slaughtered.

I would disagree. After 2010, he was the #1 center and the teams leading scorer. Which is when he put up 75% of those point totals - MJL
To me Claude will always be the guy who demanded Lavi put him out for the first shift before Game 6, immediately put Crosby on his ass, and then scored seconds later.
I disagree. go back to what they both said months ago. something to the effect they dont want to be like Colorado. dont remember the exact wording.
free up roster spots while they trade for eric johnson. They will sign another type or 2 of that ilk once again.
they have zero interest in playing ginning or attard the rest of the way (unless their hand is forced) to see what they can do. cant do that as they owe the "room". - hello it's me 2050
Johnson was brought in because the Flyers desperately need help on defense right now, with Walker traded and Drysdale, Risto and Seeler all on the shelf. It's unfair to say Johnson will be signed after this season. Also, I don't recall any statement about not wanting to be like Colorado, and I pretty much catch every interview with Jones, Briere or Torts.
Would have been nice if #88 put the team on his back in the '97 Finals. - Tomahawk
Yes it would have. Lindros was a great player but not a great leader. But are we surprised? Any player that does not want to play for the team that drafted them is more concerned about themselves than anything else. Hello Cutter!

You said he scored most of those playoff points when he wasn't the teams #1 center. After he scored 21 points in the playoffs in 2010. From the next season on, he was the Flyers #1 center. He scored the bulk of his career playoff points after the 2010 season.
