Unfortunately for you, you aren't smart enough to realize that the very act of a Flyers fan trolling Pens fan is a dead giveaway and a sign of a lack of intelligence. - MJL
Not if it's done correctly and with intelligence. They are going into the toilet and their fans know it. Now the question is how bad does it get for them. They mainly made the Karlsson trade to placate their fans cause they saw that their ticket sales were already crashing. Now we wait and see if they threaten to move again once their frontrunner fans stop showing up.
Interesting juxtaposition with Torts in his love for dogs and how he beats his players like a horse hitting a jockey. Couturier was the first victim. Who is next? Seeler will come back in and block every shot and how long will that last?
The Flyers have actually been pretty lucky this season. Hitting on the Walker/Seeler combo was pure dumb luck. A lot of other things going right for them as well. It’s still not enough.

It figures that you would take the word of a guy that played the role of a total d!ck in that movie.
To me Claude will always be the guy who demanded Lavi put him out for the first shift before Game 6, immediately put Crosby on his ass, and then scored seconds later.
That's putting your team on your back:

Damn, I miss the Flyers having a player like that. I watched a spinoff of that video which was Giroux's top 10 goals. The Flyers have no one near that level of skill at the moment.

Isles will get 3rd in Metro and Red Wings will clinch 2nd WC on a win by... Alex Lyon. Flyers will miss playoffs.
Our D and goaltending will let us down in this stretch run. Plus we are having a hard time scoring goals. I'm not feeling good about our chances. There seems to be 5 "expected wins" left on our schedule. MTL, CBJ, OTT, etc.
I never said this team will go far in the Playoffs, but the experience will help the rookies and junior players in the future when the Flyers finish this rebuild. - Thors-Hammer
Why play all these dinasour veterans if this is a "rebuild"? Over the young and hopeful.

This recent run of games doesn't give me hope. - cdearth23
He hasn’t been very good. But that collapsing defensive system is not working. Yzerman may be a top tier GM but he brought in some awful defenseman in Petry
and Holl. It’s a rebuild. They made some progress this year.

lyon is what he is really. capable backup.
has petry really been that bad? doesn't seem like stevie Y is doing that great a job on the surface,

Been hearing this same crap about the Sabres for ions and what has it meant. More and more mediocrity. Big whoop! - Phillywhiteout
So intelligent
been hearing about them regarding charged particles.....You missed your calling as a NASA engineer and instead, became a CEO of something........

Not bad for a #22 overall pick.
Flyers need to find another gem or two or three if this "rebuild" has any chance of ever working.
Ok agreed, but Briere is trying to change that. It takes time. Elite talent does not grow on trees. The Flyers need a bunch of luck here also, which, and let's be honest, they have had zero luck over the past few years. My hope is the Flyers can move or buy-out more veterans in the off-season and collect more assets to improve their chances of landing some elite talent. This draft is not deep with elite talent unfortunately. Last year was the year to tank IMO. What a different narrative it would be if Leo Carlsson was on this team, or knowing Will Smith would be joining your team once his season at BC ended. Gauthier is a winger, and though might develop into a good winger, it still just a winger. Championship teams are anchored on their 1C, 1D and goal tending. - jd250
As usual, JD, you need to give your head a shake.
Are you trying to say we wouldn't be looking forward to Gauthier? because in your mind he is lucky to have a shot at the NHL, and isn't anywhere near as good as everyone but you says he is. Gauthier is playing center for BC, so the championship team would have been anchored through Gauthier. He is a GREAT player who you constantly degrade and say he isn't very good. Out of all the prospect not in the NHL...Michkov is rated #1, and Gauthier is rated #2....above Carlsson, Smith, Leonard and Perrault. It's like Frost...you are way off base about the player, and you come on here daily and run him down.

You’re out of your mind. The Yzer-plan is in like year 5 of being nonsense. Detroit deserves to get bounced.

He's not Flyers property anymore. That is the sole reason why. If he was, he'd be a blue chipper.
The posts you're making are not going to help you get hired for the Flyers PR department. Keith Jones, the Flyers head cheerleader will not be happy. Say it with me. The message is the standard, culture, learning to be a Flyer and getting these players playoff experience.
Company slogan: The Flyers are the gold standard of the NHL - MJL
So funny how a "fan" such as yourself is on here all day/every day bashing the Flyers. What is the Sabres slogan? You think they are so great, so why don't you enlighten us on their marketing strategies?

side note month or so ago i said had a hunch sabres wlll make a run for the playoffs.
Were they really that much better? Vernon played extremely well in net for Detroit while both Hextall and Snow were mediocre at best.
Flip the goaltending and Philly wins the series. - BiggE
The memory is a bit faded because that's 27 years ago (hard to believe). We had season tickets back then, and were at games 1 and 2 in Philly. I felt like Detroit earned those wins in Philly. Certainly not by a large margin and you might be right. Vernon was the better goalie in that series, and they probably could of came out of Philly with a split after the first two games, but then the Wings blew them out in game 3 and that was pretty much all she wrote. The Flyers were pretty heavily favored going into that series (they had won all their prior series in 5 games to get there), so yet another in a long string of disappointments. And then Terry Murray said it was a choking situation. Ouch!
