The conversation stayed on the rails just fine. It was a statement to get a rise out of him and the purpose was served. Quite frankly though, I wouldn't be surprised if he felt that way cause he seems to like Hart about as much as he likes Torts.

Ahah. Yes. I’ve had it many times but I don’t find it tastes that great. Montreal is a great place to see a game and I’ve see. The flyers there many times. Lots of stuff to keep you entertained there.

I expect a destruction.
- Hextall271

I doubt the Flyers will destroy them but I hope it’s a better performance than TB and Leafs games.

Might have to go with the Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA tonight. It's 14% ALC, so after one beer you can forget that it's 3-0 already.

Man. Not a fan of the labatt light although I could drink 10 in the same time as 3 ipa.
- Hextall271

No doubt. However once you've had 1 IPA , you've had them all.

No. But only got the one pt as Ottawa won. Major issue we have is that we have little chance to get any points ourselves.

Yes, checked the isles blog, they said the penalty vs Sens end of 3rd was make up call, gave them a point.

Should have spent that 4th round pick on a backup tender rather than the slow footed Johnson. I'm really surprised that they didn't get someone else to play in net. You have Ersson (who has looked shaky lately) and no one else. I hope someone proves me wrong!

Supposedly Kolosov could come over.

Trading Walker for a pick that will be in the 25-30 range is rebuilding? There is a better chance the player drafted with that pick never plays an NHL game then being a big time contributor.
- PLindbergh31

First of all, that isn't true. The majority of 1st round picks have NHL careers.

Secondly:
Simon Gagne -- 22nd overall pick
Justin Williams -- 28th overall pick
Claude Giroux -- 22nd overall pick
Travis Konecny -- 24th overall pick

Or look at Boston:
Pastrnak-- 25th overall.
Marchand -- 71st overall (3rd round)
The now-retired Bergeron was a 45th overall pick (2nd round). The now-retired David Krejci was a 63rd overall pick (late second round).

Does it take some luck? Absolutely. But it's hardly uncommon for late first-round picks (or beyond) to outshine a lot of earlier picks.

That Flyers’ 4th line looks pretty sexy. What’s that, about $14 mil in salary?

If Walker had 2-3 years left on his contract, they probably do not make that trade. The wild card is he is going t demand way more than he is worth. He most definitely will be over paid and if the Flyers signed him, over -termed also. They are already saddled with burdensome contracts -Couturier, Ellis, Johansen, Peterson

I’m not an IPA guy, but I’ll disagree. Some I enjoy very much, but it isn’t my first choice in most cases.

The problem with IPAs was that many brewers that decided just to make it a hop bomb and omit any flavor - only bitterness. Bitterness for the sake of bitterness does nobody any good.

If that’s what you mean by “if you’ve had one you’ve had them all,” then okay. I see where you’re coming from. Many people try to do it. Few do it well.

Still, some people get it right. As far as hop bombs are concerned, Heady Topper is absolutely stellar double IPA. Alchemist makes great stuff. Unfortunately, you’ll probably have to visit Vermont to get your hands on it.

Bell’s Two-Hearted Ale can be found at many distributors. It’s a good pick. Or if you want something more local, Victory’s HopDevil is quite tasty and Sly Fox’s 113 does the trick.

I really do miss the microbreweries in PA. They have a lot more to offer than Yuengling, Yards, and I guess that IC swill if you’re a Yinzer.

Really good stuff back home.

Do you really want me to go back and research all the Flyers first round picks who were zeros? Because I’m sure it will validate my point of a late round pick having a better chance amounting to nothing as opposed to the Girouxs and Konecnys

Gonna need Big Nick for the locker room tonight. He leads by example on the ice as well.
