What in the blue (frank). - fifty__missions
I’ve been saying sucks for two years now.
You guys let your blind hate for me distract you from the fact that I’m always right about these sort of things.

You guys didn't focus your mind energy hard enough on Matthews and look what happened. - GalacticStone
well your suggestion started with Matthews entering the zone with the puck.. |

Man I’ve read this 10x now and I still can’t figure out exactly what you mean - Arctic_AARDVARK
Same moves as Nylander but instead of shooting towards the net at the very end of them he would have passed lol

Morgan shot it past Morgan who was blinding his goalie - Dozzer
Don't get me wrong - Rielly and Brodie are goddamned awful together and have been for vast segments of the year. Why Keefe put them back together is a mystery to everyone - but the goalie has to fight through screens.
I said the same thing at the end of Andersen's time here - when a goalie isn't playing with confidence, they don't play tips or screens - they have excuses for those goals - but when a goalie is on and is playing with confidence, they are reading the plays, planning ahead, thinking about what can be. You can't always read a tip, but you can prepare for it. You can fight through a screen - a lot more than Sammy has been.

No denying Doosherov is a freak offensively.
But he’s a headcase and one of those wingers who think they don’t have to play both sides of the puck. - Arctic_AARDVARK
He's not out there for defense. He's a one trick pony, but he's arguably the best puck distributor in the game. He also triggers Habs fans, which is a bonus.

True, you need the puck and a look to score. Torts is good at muddying up the zone.

Brodie is awful.
If he wasn’t really good for the leafs 2 years ago he would not be playing.
Time to sit him. Get a stretch of 10 games without him in the lineup and see how the D shakes out. |

Hahah k I get it.
Nylander just shoots from everywhere, and that’s fine. But Marner has like 150 more pts than him in fewer games, so I’d rather a player who thinks the game more strategically, and doesn’t just pad his stats by shooting all the time. |

Brodie is the new Holl. - GalacticStone
His game has dropped off but he's still miles more useful away from Rielly. Put them together and they're an absolute liability.
Watching them absolutely cluster (frank) each other into a total yard sale on goal #2 should paint a pretty obvious picture. |

I’m sorry but Samsonov has been great since returning. I’m blaming the D here primarily. I get what you’re saying however, is he the goalie that can save his damn team when they have an off shift? Yes a good one needs to be. Expecting him to be a goalie to get the win by saving the team for an entire game is not fair tho. Once in awhile sure but it’s the team earning tonight’s loss (unless they show up differently in the 3rd), not Sammy’s. |

Just wool gathering here during intermission...
Which retired ex-Leaf player is known as a brilliant student of the game and a thinker in the sport? Is there a Leaf(s) like that who were also respected and successful players during their tenure?
I'm thinking somebody like that should be the next coach after they shoot Queefe into the Sun.

This game sucks. Sucky goals for Philly and a bunch of posts for the Leafs. Good think is I have not seen Matthews with this much jump in about 10 games. He looks good with Bertuzzi and Domi. If they catch fire the next couple of games. It frees up Mitch to drive his own line. |
