Which retired ex-Leaf player is known as a brilliant student of the game and a thinker in the sport? Is there a Leaf(s) like that who were also respected and successful players during their tenure?

I'm thinking somebody like that should be the next coach after they shoot Queefe into the Sun.

I’m sorry but Samsonov has been great since returning. I’m blaming the D here primarily. I get what you’re saying however, is he the goalie that can save his damn team when they have an off shift? Yes a good one needs to be. Expecting him to be a goalie to get the win by saving the team for an entire game is not fair tho. Once in awhile sure but it’s the team earning tonight’s loss (unless they show up differently in the 3rd), not Sammy’s.

I agree - but he hasn't looked good _this_ game. His form is a little off - but he's made some nice saves through it as well. I certainly don't blame him on the 2nd goal - those are hard - but goals 1 & 3, I want more battle. If he gets beat battling the screen I can accept it, but if he gets beat because he was screened and did nothing to see around it, I'm not a fan of the goal.

I agree - but he hasn't looked good _this_ game. His form is a little off - but he's made some nice saves through it as well. I agree with you on goal 1, that I didn’t like. Almost seemed like he wasn’t awake for the game yet. That third goal I can see what you’re saying but the problem there was that the D were already moving, there was no direction for him to move without remaining behind someone. The D needs to sit still for a block or move quicker. However yeah, Sammy did the necessary gamble of a choice and got it wrong.
