I think we're reading way too much into this. With Martin scratched, Cizikas is moving back to the fourth line, which means MacLean moves over to wing. Pageau drops to 3C and someone has to center the second line. It's either going to be Barzal or Nelson, and maybe Roy likes what he's seen from Nelson on the wing, or wants to see what Barzal can do at C.

Martin being scratched because Detroit is a fast team........he needs to hang them up and work for the team in some aspect

Roy shows promise, but he is no lock at this point. If it is true he is putting Barzal with Lee and Fasching, that is a concerning move.

Actually tried to edit that and got bombarded with ads. Yeah I don’t think these coaches have much of a choice but to try crazy sh!t bcs there’s nothing to work with. This lineup has some good players mixed among some not so great players and some guys that just need to go bcs they aren’t putting in an effort.

No question the roster is the biggest issue. Lee and Fasching still should not be the top 6 unless you have big injuries. Islanders are in a bad spot. Call up Ruslan and maybe you catch lighting in a bottle?
