well, I know they obviously aren't prospects anymore but they do already have Suzuki, Caufield, Slaf, Dach and Newhook as well, so yes they have to add talent to the top 6 but they aren't lightyears away from having something decent either. the draft should be an interesting moment for the habs, another Dach-type trade could be sweet. - Pat1993
Suzuki caufield slaf dach ok you got 4 there.
Newhook is closer, he's got speed but at 23 we are going to need to see points, Roy is a maybe.
Like you said we need another Dach type trade or a FA to solidify because if you try to go with the draft it's at least 3-4 years before he's ready (assuming we don't draft 1st overall)

There is depth on D, if he does not pan out.
Fowler is the one that needs to be the real deal, IMO. - Mashadar
sure but he's still a 3rd round pick... if he does pan out though the habs will look like geniuses. he's doing really well right now, hopefully he continues to dominate at every level and becomes a legit NHL starter, we'll see.

I do not think Beck's game is solely about point, though.
Mesar is another story... - Mashadar
I project him has our 3rd line center. A better Jake Evans |

well, to be fair, it's when people "commit" to making bold statements about prospects that we then say later on they were dumb to say that poop in the first place if they were wrong lol. - Pat1993
the part where the person said something dumb that was wrong is the part that usually seems hard for the person to grasp. |

Just meant, they are a lot more thin on goalie prospects than defence.

Lane Hutson is putting mad points for the last 2 years in the NCAA I don't mind a little bold statement.
I don't get people when they try to hype guys like Beck or Mesar up that are just a little over a point per game at 19 in juniors - Fredo
I think Beck will be good, but a La Evans type of deal...somewhere between a 3rd and a 4th center in the NHL
Mesar will be a Ylonen
so ya we need to trade for a top 6 winger |

you mean that harsher critics often don't know a lot more than the people they're criticizing?

saying something wrong louder or repeating it over and over again doesn't change the fact that it's wrong.

I think, in general, we have moved to a place where people present their options as fact and argue on that basis. You know, rather than taking a fact and present their perspective.
We have lost the consensus of facts, and inflated the worth of perspectives.

yup. and there's also a lot of confusion concerning the difference between consensus and unanimity, and people feel the need to debate about poop they aren't knowledgeable to talk about anyway.

The problem is that you can count the amount of under 5'10 defenseman that are in the NHL on one hand. |

I do miss the days, when generally speaking, people agreed problem X was based on fact(s) Y. How to fix the issue was the political difference.
While that was that was still frustrating, at least people were speaking the same language. Now everyone is just making up their own languages, and wonder why people do not understand or agree with them.
Not sure this ever gets resolved or we return to some level of base sanity.

I don't think there are a whole lot of defensemen putting the same numbers he is either though
