sounds like they are comparing Torts to Mike Keenan on NHL Network with the Coots benching, getting energy out of the guy (whether it's positive or negative) and it not always working with every player.
hmm i forget, who said this very same thing the other day? |

You continue to be uninformed. Stop wasting my time. Come at me with something intelligent. You can't. All you can do is say you disagree. You're the guy who says "I'm going to kick your ass" and then runs away. - MJL
The only time he's ever funny is when he threatens physical harm to me.....he actually hilarious |
|
|
|
Then why name him captain? Torts didn’t just figure this out after naming him captain I assume. - Flyfly
Jersey sales right before Valentine’s Day. Money grab. And maybe torts had little to do with it. Pr move from above |

Real fans know why 😂. The guy was fine for the first half of the year and now real fans know what he is. Simple logic man. Get with it - ClaudeFather
Yeah he was ABSOLUTELY tearing it up 1st half. Laughable |

That ignores the fact that Couturier played at a strong level the first half of the season. To the point where he was for months, averaging 19-20 minutes a game. - MJL
Boosh had 5 straight shutouts. Who cares. He played well for a few months. Whoopty do |

They need to keep working on Marchand, he is a powder keg waiting to explode.

Couturier, despite his down turn in play, is still one of the top 12 forwards on the team. He can still contribute with his defensive and faceoff ability. Playing Couturier would not prevent a single young player from being in the lineup. - MJL
That’s not what he’s being paid for. Or what is expected from him. |
|
|
|
No doubt. He has been held accountable and now realizes that he has to play better. I'm expecting big things. - MJL
And you will be disappointed. Unless your big things you’re expecting are hehehehe faceoffs and hehehehe defensive play.
All of which weren’t why he was moved down lineup. Or benched for that matter |

sometimes rest is good - 2Real
Would’ve been classy for Torts to get behind the microphones and say “Coots had given it his all. He’s our captain. Even though he disagrees, I believe he needs a few days off. He’s a win at all costs kind of guy so he obviously hates my decision, but we need him energized and healthy for the playoff push.” Whether true or not, that would’ve poop everything down. But it seems the coach would never admit he wore the man down. |

He is being paid for past performance. What was expected of him after missing 2 years off double back surgery?
You think the coach called him into his office before the season and went over any detailed plan? |
