Some of the KHL uses the NHL sized rinks. Many used Finnish sized, some use international. Its crazy that it isn't standardized. But that should help him adjust faster since he needs to do it all the time. Dynamo Minsk home rink is Finnish sized. |

For everyone going “bonk”-ers over his season phantoms youngster Samson was a PPG defenseman in the WHL last year, has a whopping single goal and 8 points in 52 games for the phantoms his first year. |

I dont think we are. Its nice to see him putting up points, but they are using him as the bumper on their PP and he is putting up a ton of points in that situation. I doubt that translates to his pro game. What I am excited about is that he was an important part of the Canadian WJC team as an 18 year old, and will be a major piece of that team this year. I am more excited about the confidence and swagger he is gaining by being in those situations.

Gotta say the pair of Attard and Ginning has been solid and they seem to have some chemistry. They’ve given us a small sample but it’s under significant pressure at crunch time. Confidende would be very high if they were the 3rd pairing heading in to next year. Think about this: Sanheim/York, Seeler/Deysdale, Attard/Ginning with Zemula as #7. This allows guys like Andrae to have an opportunity to break in to the NHL during training camp or gain more experience in the AHL. No need to spend any money on D this summer. Move RR for whatever you can get.
Don’t buy anyone out because the Flyers will want that cap space in the coming years. As far as the offense, there’s nothing wrong with the current lineup moving forward. TK should be moved only if the Flyers have an offer they can’t refuse but we see how the Courturier long term contract is aging already so be weary. TK plays a hard game and has a lot of mileage on his body right now. Just be smart. If the rumored return for Laughton the past 2 seasons is real then as much as we hate to say goodbye, take the deal and move on.
There’s no reason this current team with minor tweaks can’t take that next step without binding themselves to bad contracts. The future can be very very bright as long as it’s not rushed. |

When does Hart return?
Are they planning to never have a known sex offender associated with the team?
Coots not being addled by weariness is MUCH better.
If we only have Errson, we might make the second round. |

Sat in my local watering hole in south Jersey. Bartenders turned off the sound to collage hoops and amped up the Flyers sound. Fun game to watch. Looking forward to the local haters take. - Angus4444 Good on them to turn the sound onto the only game that really mattered yesterday in this area unless you bet on the March madness. They should have just had ALL the TVs on the Flyers like they do here locally when we go out to local establishments. WC is a hockey town thankfully!!

Known sex offender? Did he get found guilty? I missed that.
That being said, his contract is up after this season so I doubt he returns.

The Pens and Isles are probably gonna suck for quite sometime, and the Caps might be right there with them. The Canes, Rags and Devils (maybe) will be good though. Devils simply aren't made for the playoffs as I said last year at this time much to the chagrin of a few posters on here. Columbus always finds a way to suck, so the Flyers should be right there again next season all things being equal. |

Time will tell. For me, the '03 draft was the best Flyers draft in the last 25 yrs. Richards and Carter were drafted- 3 Stanley Cup finals and won it twice. Like most of Flyers history, it was a very good run during their time with the Flyers, just missed out on the ultimate prize. This never gets old.
https://youtu.be/Bs_3PeQQUxc?si=fRTjXg-Ckltcfpg0 - Trox88
The 1972 Flyers draft is up there too..
Bill Barber 903 games 883 pts 2 cup wins +2 cup finals
Tom Bladon 610 games 270 pts 2 cup wins + 1 cup finals
Jim Watson 613 games 196 pts 2 cup wins + 2 cup finals
Al MacAdams 864 games 240 goals 351 assists 591 pts
I’m old so this draft always stills in my head Keith “ the thief” Allen still top Flyers GM. “The thief” part includes his draft steals too!
Correction to Allan MacAdams does have a Stanley cup RING but his NAME is NOT on the cup. So he does get partial credit!! |

Isn't the better comparisons Sanheim playing for Calgary and Provorov playing for Brandon? Samson was a 6th rd pick while the other 3 were 1st rd picks.
London seems to produce 1st rdrs that at the very least make the NHL. Not necessarily be a difference maker with every prospect.

Teenage stupidity certainly can wait for consequences. I can't.
Knowing that Carter has sought assistance from psych pros for an extended period and then had quit, I worry about him.
If no conviction is made, what do we do with him as a 'tarnished' former bright shiny thing? Merely release him at the end of his contract. He has been a serviceable pro and gave us his best. I don't forget that.
And finally this, "Couturier was back in the lineup against Boston and his line, alone with Olle Lycksell and Noah Cates, was arguably the team's best line. While they didn't score, they limited the Bruins chances when on the ice together. That shows in their 80.00 CF%. It's only one game, but doing that against Boston is not an easy feat."
https://broadstreetbuzz.c...-to-couturier-scratchings
I didn't edit this for readability but the primary stat is that 80% CF.
My eyes did not betray me when it appeared to me that Sean was having quite HIS game.

Frost and York both were held back too long. Now some could say the coach pulled the right strings and that's why they are as they are now. Others, like me, could say that we could've had these players playing like this last year if their obvious talent was given a chance. - backfire
It could be argued either way, but I think the above is very true. Flyer are, historically, very impatient with young players. They have been very hesitant to let them learn through mistakes. |

Ask yourself this, are Ginning/Attard playing out of necessity or the coaches decision?
Travis- Cam -Seller-JD Risto- Zamula.
That is your top 6 barring any trade, can switch out Zamula if you like. Do you see the Flyers not adding a a top 4 Defenseman this summer along with a maybe a cheap veteran? No way the roll into next season with those 6 and/or Ginning/Attard. Be 100% shocked if that happened. If they somehow win a playoff round then look out. "Rebuild" 85% over.
This move Konecny only if an offer you can't refuse indicates to me that you don't want to trade him. How often do those type of can't refuse offers pop up? Based on what they have shown so far they have given zero indication they will move either Konency or Laughton. They are core building blocks. |

And this was the argument for many against resigning Seeler. There’s nothing special about the player toolwise. The flyers helped develop him with one of the best coaches for defensemen in the league. Why not take advantage of that? It hasn’t been many games, but ginning and attard are showing their ability to play in this league. Why pay a premium for someone like Seeler?

That’s a pretty solid year….only close comparison was 1983.
No 1rst rounder but draft Zettel and Smith in 2nd and then Tocchet in the 6th and Eklund in the 8th. Man they had some lean years looking back though….good thing that the draft wasn’t as important. You could buy your way out of horrid drafts…no longer the case.

Devils will be much better unless you think last season was a fluke. Columbus will also be improved imo. Not a total patsy; on paper they had a solid team to start the year. Pens and Caps will plug along and be average or so. No walkover where the Flyers are head and shoulders better by any means. Caps do have some youngish players playing so not all vets. So it will still be a battle
If the Isle ever decide to rebuild, wonder if they make Barzel available?
Also like the Flyers this year a team may possibly come out of nowhere and surprise. Rangers, Carolina, and the Devils would be top 3 in the division.
