I don't think you've seen the event either, so it might not be simply "not French enough for some people", it's quite possible it just wasn't respecting francophones, period.

And, quite frankly, do not care - it was a sporting event. Seems just as silly as demanding the Habs coach must speak French, yet Football or soccer or (in the past) Baseball coaches get a pass.

I mean "hot dog" and "smoked meat" is somehow fine, but other things are not...

Selective outrage over something that is not important, makes outrage over the arguably important needs for French seem diminished... you know, cry wolf thing.
