Seriously? There has to be a player available that is an upgrade. Should the Flyers have traded a high level asset just to get a back up for the rest of this season? When they don't have a legit shot at contending? The Flyers didn't upgrade in net at the deadline because there was no legitimate option, taking in all the variables available.

A backup tender usually doesn't require a high level asset. One of the non contending teams would have parted with one of their backups for a 4th rounder or whatever. would have to be an upgrade of what they currently have which is nada behind Ersson.

That's just speculation with no evidence available. If there was a player that made sense for a short term backup, the Flyers would've likely made it. They didn't because it just wasn't available in my opinion.

So you would trade for Jake Allen which could be a costly 2nd rounder if he plays more than 40 game b/t this year and next? This trade was a head scratcher and thank god the Flyers did not come close to this type of trade.
