For those of you that are still holding out hope - last night was a pretty bad night for the Isles playoff chances. |

Yep! Islanders had things in control after the 6 wins in a row. That’s gone now. |

They are toast for this season. They aren’t coming back from losing six in a row. Still having a hard time wrapping my head around that one. Honestly dislike this team. They need an obvious overhaul that’s never coming. |

Sadly, I have to agree. This is not a likeable team at all. Management just blames the coaches, and the GM and players get very little blame.

A lot of this team needs a change of scenery. I believe they are a bit to comfortable. |

Garth and Lou made the players way too comfortable by not changing the roster and the long-term contracts. Barry's coaching made the roster look better than it was. We have to be honest and admit the shortened Covid seasons were a huge help to the Islanders. Even with Barry, the Islanders were not exactly rolling over the NHL before those ECF runs. |

I believe all of these players, coaches, GM’s, have shelf life. That’s not referring to the obvious with a players usefulness due to their age. This isn’t an Islander problem I believe it happens everywhere but these guys get a bit to cozy in their roles after a while. I don’t think anyone is going to make them uncomfortable enough to play to their ability. Trotz got the most out of this group and more then anyone else will. This group ran their course along with our GM. |

Islanders and Yankees are very similar in terms of the talent not good enough based on the money spent. Lou and Brian are buddies. |

I agree, there are no Easter Miracles this year. There needs to be change with a good portion of the existing roster. While I am not holding out hope for the playoffs, I am holding out hope that movement is made at the draft. |

Yeah, none of Isles nation cares. Apathy has set in. I'll watch, but I have zero expectations other than seeing them POSSIBLY take a lead, only to blow it at some point. Ledecky needs to step up at the end of this season and do the right thing for this franchise. Fire old balls and get a good gm in here to start to fix the mess that the ancient one created.

Exactly! Lou hired the coaches he wanted and got the roster he wanted. No excuses. |

There’s someone who agrees with me. Last year was 100% the TDL to do what needed to be done. Yeah Covid changed things and our path in 22’ but last year was a complete no brainer. If it were done properly we would’ve potentially been in a fairly competitive position even next season.
Instead we doubled down on stupidity which will hurt this team for the foreseeable future. Lou should be shot into outer space along with his son for that alone. |

Most of the NHL hockey world agrees. It was clear to everyone, but Lou the roster was not good enough. There is no big injury excuse Lou can make for this year or no owners preventing Lou from spending. This is on the players and Lou. People would have the same take whether Garth Snow or Joe Smith were the GM. It's not personal against Lou. |

Having a GM that's over 80 years old and in clear decline was another thing that should have obvious to our owners. Unless they really don't care what happens on the ice like others have suggested.

Lou is set in his ways and shows no sign of changing. Lou should do the right thing if the owners will not. He does not want to admit the game is different in 2024. Sadly, most of these owners do not love their sport. It's about the money they can make and the ego of being an owner. Money will be an issue if the team continues along this path. |
