Great player and integral part of 2 Cups. Bailed the first chance he had when things got rough.

Give this gentleman a standing ovation!

I don't think Juniors is going to help his game at all. There really shouldn't be a bunch of competition on the right wing. Don't see why they couldn't put him on the 3RW with Eller and maybe DOC on the LW. Have Poulin-Pusty on the 4th line. That and feed Yager PP one timers.

Why do we seem to always draft the tweeters that are too good for Juniors but aren’t allowed to come to the minors so their development stalls?

Tojo’s moment has finally arrived!

Haha, now watch him get buried for 8 minutes. But that's probably where he'll have to work his way up. 4th line could at least be a threat.

On top of 12 points in his first 8 games with the Canes....Jakey has been on the ice for 15 goals for, 0 against. Pretty wild stat.

The reports I heard was that he was offered an extension and didn't want to sign it. So while he didn't bail, they were forced to trade him

If I heard wrong, I retract my call to to throw rotten tomatoes.

Dubas basically said in the press conference after that he was the one who decided to trade him rather than lock in another player long-term into his late 30s (and longer than the ones they have). I know that speculation was out there at times, but all the reports around that time agreed it was a team decision and they never seriously negotiated with him.

Then he shall be doused in golden showers (if that's his thing) or a round of applause...his choice.

The reports from Yohe is that the FO didn't really engage with Guentzel's camp beyond preliminary talks and that Guentzel's preference would have been to stay in Pittsburgh and was sad when it became clear that was not going to happen. Call it a business decision if you want to say he didn't want to take the home town discount that would have triggered Dubas to further conversations, but that's hardly bailing.

I don’t see why they didn’t at least offer Guentzel a 4x6 deal. Seems fair enough for his particular skill set.

I honestly thought they had offered him a legit offer in the 8x10 range. If they didn't give a legit offer (which they should have) then all good.

That’s just the stupid CHL/AHL transfer agreement. It sucks.

No I know. I’m saying why do we always draft the prospects that are especially boned by it?
