They didn’t bang much today. To laid back & really didn’t carry the play that well. Same players doing the skating & hard lifting. Miller looking tired lately. He’s been a lil off of late. Still getting his points no matter who he plays with. Need more players to step up. - Nighthawk
I don’t think hitting was the issue. 34-10 in hits. Canucks average around 25 a game. I thought they took it to Ducks in that regard. I’m still not a fan of this defensive group. They have a real hard time clearing the net front. |

Agree. I think Canucks can match any team even in the playoffs. It all depends which game they bring. I do have a feeling they will be up for it.

Just looking at goals against heat maps and the teams that win against the Canucks crash the net. Lots of goals against during mad scrambles in front of our goalies. Drives me crazy. Shows the value in big Dmen who actually play big. |

They get a bit sloppy losing ops or positioning at times. Clearing pucks or the zone not so good. |

Broken plays are harder to defend. RT preaches that for Canucks to do more so to generate offense.
Side note JTM not happy with Canucks game. Not peak form. |

Canucks didn’t start playing with urgency until it was tied, 2 points is 2 points. Ducks looked determined after the no show against the oilers, bottom feeder or not they do have some nice skill that are young and inexperienced. |

Can’t get too excited about the PP til it gets better going forward.
The Ducks entered averaging the most penalty minutes per game in the league (14:03) and with the second worst penalty kill, having held opponents off on 73.2 per cent of their penalties across the season. |

Can’t take any team lightly but there wasn’t enough urgency by the Canucks. I’m not forgetting they sucked for years & are having a turnaround season. Some warts are still there & need to tighten it up. |

Score 2 power play goals on 4 penalties 50% conversion rate. What are you expecting? First time they’ve scored more than 1 pp goal in a long time. |

As it stands we’ve the 3rd best PP of the 4 PO teams in the Pacific & 4th best on the PK. Only the Preds are worse than us in both as possible 1st round opponent. |

If you read it in entirety they should score. Means squat atm til they do it against a good team. 2pts in the regular season is all it is. 29th PP since the ASB. Need to see more before going all ga ga lol - Nighthawk
Oh, I get it now. Is there a stat for scoring pp goals against good teams that I can look at? I didn’t realize the league separated them into categories. Take your time, I can wait. |

PP is expected to get better. If not expect a fall to 2nd place. Expect a 1st round loss. Do you expect more? Lol |

So you are saying the Canucks power play is ranked 29th? If it doesn’t improve they will fall to 2nd in the Pacific? Or even worse a 1st round exit?
Traditionally the 1st round is the hardest to win. Win that one and anything can happen. |

It will be tough for all teams in the west, the separation from 1 through 8 is very little. |
