Adams said these things take time. - SABRES 89
Another loser milestone record.
Clearly, skinner has no interest in being a winner or he would have demanded a trade years ago. It would eat me alive to have spend 1000 games in the NHL and NEVER play even 1 playoff game.
He embodies the country club culture. Takes notes Pegula

Is that right? I thought I heard Beane himself say they had about $7 million before the trade and used up another $3-3.5 with the dead cap, not inclusive of Tre White's post June release. - buffalofan19
Well they still get 19mill in relief from the Diggs trade, when complete. |

There are 3 outliers in your list of 13 who have accomplished a feat in the CAP era institutes in the NHL in the 2005-2006...so 19 seasons.
I updated your list with their respective draft position. Once again, the Top 5 Picks dominate the likelihood of success, including this feat... 9 of 13, and 1 other was 6th.
Only Pasternak and Bergeron were outside that group... HoF's to be sure.
I wouldn't count on anybody, even 1-OA's to emerge by age 20 and pot 30 goals.
Hell, less than 20% of skaters have 25+ goals this season so far. (70 of 375-ish). The Sabres have JJP and Tuch in that list... W/ that dreadful Skinner at 24, lol.
Moral of the story seems to be draft in the Top 5 every year... Not many fans would like that. - IonSabres
You can make adjustments to the list I found on twitter, the point remains...for a team that planned on building through the draft, missed on players who would actually help win.
Heading into 24/25 season, if the plan remains to depend on draft picks developing and generating wins in the NHL, expect a 14th year of missed playoffs.

Listen to other teams GM's, they demand to win and demand to be a better team every game and play hard. That is not what you are dealing with Adams and CO. The culture of this team is a mess and has been however, I've heard nothing about Garanto getting canned but if he does I said a few months ago that Appert may get the job. That is a nothing move. |

Are they going to adopt another dog next year though? Adams needs to cut costs, lets see how ruthless is.

Other than the oiler rumor, any other noise out there? What is your confidence level that moves are actually made this offseason? |

Of all the analysis I watched/read yesterday, there was one thing I took away that I agree with the most. It's better to move on from a player a year too early than a year too late. I do think Diggs's season last year was an anomaly and that he will have a good year in Houston. I don't think those same numbers would have the same impact in Buffalo especially given how much better Houston's receiver group without Diggs is better than Buffalo's even with him. - buffalofan19
punting this season away so they have lots of cap space for when the new stadium opens up and the new rich folk become season ticket holders |

I would give up a 1st round pick to the Flyers to get Torts here but, he is considered an " OUTSIDER" and Adams and CO do not like that. They don't want anyone to disturb what they are trying to accomplish........................ for the last 20 years. - SABRES 89
Bring me Lindy as President, Torts as HC… banish Terry to the yacht and jello coordination, Send Adams back to the Harbor Center to jack up the boards.
And let’s see what Lindy and John can build…
It’ll never happen, we are just gonna run it back cause they beat the Caps… |

Who are these rich folk you speak of? We don't have the quantity of them who desire to drink all day in the rain to fill that place up. |

side note, when they decided to reduce the seats another 10k, it was easy to figure out they are more concerned about the bottom line vs the fans
same can be said for the sabres when you have more security guards than scouts
there was no problem getting 80 k in the ralph when the bills were decent in the 90s |

Where did you see this? Everything I read is that nobody knows how much the tickets will cost, just the PSL.
Tickets were a hell of a lot cheaper league wide back in the 90s. Was there even a ticket that cost above $100 in the Super Bowl era? |

Dude those tickets were 16-35 dollars. I get what you're saying that it appears they're clearing out the regular folk in favor of rich people, but I'm saying we don't have the volume of rich people. Even with Canada. |
