Hilarious! Public record says otherwise.

Well, I got what I wanted, and went down in a blaze of glory. I fully expect Torts to make Frost the 4th line center and promote Cates to 1st line center for the gaffe. - Trox88

I know we weren’t supposed to care this year and all that. I probably even said it too.
But I’m pretty bummed out that after how hard they played this year to get into playoff position they are just crumbling now at the end.
Sucks. Wanted to see them in the playoffs. |

I went from actually wanting to praise him for a change to wanting to throat punch him in a literal span of two minutes. WTF was he thinking on that play? |

It's all good. I'm already looking at prospects. At least seeing Fedotov and Drysdale play has me interested for the rest of the season. |

I'll just say it's not over yet. They're still in a playoff spot. Washington has to win some more games.

Choking at the end of the year gives me ZERO motivation to watch them next year....unless something big happens in the offseason, but I doubt that happens.

Did you actually watch the play and see what happened? - MJL Nope, had a phone call, but that's what others told me. Said he took the puck back into his own zone, and then fumbled it and lost coverage once he turned over the puck. |

My expectations kinda changed. Instead of watching the games not really worried about the outcome, but to see growth in these players earlier in the year to being now being emotionally invested in the outcome…. it blows.
Like MJL said, still games to be played, but where after that Boston game the odds felt like they’d miss the playoffs, they feel pretty long they’ll make the playoffs.
What a bizarre five game losing streak. Totally domination of Florida only to lose. That third period against the Rangers. Two disallowed goals against Montreal. The total no show against Chicago. And then whatever this game was. Aye yi yi. |

I'm bummed too. Losing to Chicago Saturday and the recent lackluster efforts is sad to see. Anything can happen but Torts is losing the team and I just don't see how we can get out of this hole we've been digging.

I initially felt like Drysdale should have ragged it behind the net. But rewatching it, if Frost handles that pass as he would 99% of the time, it probably springs a 2 on 1 the other way depending how far down Nelson comes. |

For sure… Torts is right in one sense….you learn about guys when the games get ramped up in intensity. It’s important for some of these young guys to go through this. Even if they fail. |

I think they are tired. That stretch against all those really good teams drained them.
I’m absolutely not using that as an excuse but more as observation. Some players are learning what it takes now. |

Some guys really played a perimeter brand of hockey today. And Zamula really really really struggled. |

Yes, at least they were bright spots. I thought Drysdale looked good. I honestly didn't think he'd be back this season so happy to see him back.

Yep, it was a routine play that went wrong. I'd much rather see regroups in the neutral zone then taking it all the way back to your own end in OT. Better coordination of line changes.

And then whatever this game was. Aye yi yi. - Flyers1218 Yep, very frustrating. I've been saying pretty much all along that I thought 94 points would get them in, but that now means they need 11 out of a possible 12 points. Can't see that at this point. One thing is for sure...their fate is no longer in their hands. You just can't lose to the Hawks on a Saturday night in your building. I think the team is cooked. The fumbling of the pucks and mental errors are symptoms of total fatigue. |
