You spend literally all day, every day, arguing with countless posters about such things as rookie status and points percentage .. and I'm the idiot? Get a life! You're almost right about one thing, if it wasn't so tragic it would be humorous. - jd250
A players rookie status and points percentage is hockey talk and is relevant conversation. Your post above is not hockey talk and is not relevant. |

You have to get Fedotov in at some point and I’d be fine with it. They probably want a few more practices before throwing him in but he’s backing up so Ersson could go down or we could be getting destroyed and he’s in. - Hextall271
I agree, Fedotov still has to break in his new pads, get used to the rink size, learn the defensive coverages and call-outs, as well as get over jet-lag. I think they play Fedotov maybe against Columbus on Apr 6. |

Fedetov played in NHL size rinks in the KHL. It's my understanding that Fedetov speaks English well so understanding "leave it" or "play it" or "over" shouldn't take too long to learn. Fedetov flew in late last week and is a pro athlete. Jet lag is not an issue. Hockey players fly on a regular basis. I never played goalie, so I can't comment on the pads. Have you ever played goalie? |

I think the Flyers are going to win tonight. This team has shown up against good teams all year, and I don't believe two games makes a freefall. They will reset. - jd250
I think they win tonight. I think if Torts is smart he starts Fedotov. Rolling out Laughton and Poehling as your 2nd and 3rd line c’s is not going to work. Time to roll back the clock and get Coots back with TK. The games are all tight checking now, the Flyers need to get back to doing what has made this season successful. STOP GIVING THE PUCK AWAY IN THE NEUTRAL ZONE.
and for (frank) sakes can we bury some chances and get a fricken save. |

He does not have to get used to the rink size. As has been said 100 times already, his KHL team played on an NHL sized rink.

There’s only one rink in the KHL that’s Olympic size. |

Looking at the remaining schedule for the Flyers and Capitals, I would say tonight's game is as close to a must win game for the Flyers as they will have all season. With the Caps idle tonight, this will be the Caps' third game in hand against the Flyers. If the Flyers lose tonight I don't see them holding on to 3rd place. - jd250
Why wouldnt you think the Flyers will hold on to 3rd place?? The other day you argued that the Flyers are a good team when I said they are a mediocre team. You certainly cant consider the Caps or Detroit good teams. Should be a piece of cake by your assessments of their talent. |

You couldn't actually talk hockey because if it's not in a stat sheet, you wouldn't know where to begin. Have fun reading the latest capology reports, troll. - jd250
Did they all jump on the opportunity to nitpick you? Sure.
But my man... you gotta learn to take the L more gracefully.
Just a simple oops would have sufficed and we'd still be on topic of this being a must win. |

Worked wonders with Couturier.

I can’t say I would rather play Fedotov over Sam tonight, glad I’m not making that decision. Here’s just a thought on the matter. With the Flyers struggling with their D coverage the last few games and the uncertainty he would bring, maybe starting Ivan would help them focus more on their defensive game, than we’ve seen lately. Thought being, like when a star player has to miss a few games because of injury, the team initially plays a stronger defensive game knowing they’re missing some of their offensive scoring. On the other hand, it could back fire and look like a terrible decision.
If push came to shove, I’d probably give him a few more practices. |

Was discussing this over the weekend and especially in the third period of Saturdays game and I mentioned why not throw the big russian goalie ( yes I know his name but I was being fasicious ) in to get some work and I would also plug him into the nets for several factors: An unknown factor, give Errson some rest and focus the team that they have someone new in the nets. There was no way in Hell the Flyers were coming back in that game
In my opinion both Sandstrom and Peterson when tossed in was already a known factor of a pending train wreck as evident by that game in Pittsburgh in late Feba nd the recent Bruins game - neither was going to holding the opponent to 1 or 2 goals
In my opinion they have nothing to lose by doing so - they are on a downward slide and barely treading water - pump some juice in and toss the dice
Just my 2 cents

Yes, unlike you I have actually played and coached ice hockey. You don't know what you're talking about if you think Fedotov is remotely ready for an NHL game at this point, but go on, please continue to embarrass yourself, its quite humorous. |

My guess is Fedotov starts Saturday vs Columbus. It’s the 2nd game of a back to back. I could see them giving him the Friday game but Columbus is a worse team than Buffalo so… |

This is just foolishness on your part. As I stated I'm not commenting further on stupid posts about points and points percentage, which means nothing when the season is still going. |

Ok, so maybe I should have said he needs time to acclimate to the NHL style of play, you know, shooting more, getting traffic in front, etc. Is that a more accurate statement? Do you think Fedotov is actually ready to play an NHL game that means something right now? |

I guess the Flyers don't have any clue either since they've already had him as the backup in a game already. You don't dress a goalie as the backup if you feel his is not remotely ready for an NHL game. It's possible that a backup might have to play. Keep on keeping on jd.

Good news all around. I want to see Fedotov like everyone else but it’s too soon. Set the guy up (as much as you can) for success. Biggest game of the year so far (insert eye roll 🙄 emoji for stating the obvious) |
