I wouldn't say he's a bad coach. He won a Stanley Cup so he is better than me at it. However, he hasn't changed with the times, his temper and the way he deals with people are a problem, and his old school ways aren't really relevant anymore. He seems to thrive in a negative environment, whereas most desire a positive workplace. He has his ceiling, and I don't think it is a Stanley Cup at this point, so I think we are kind of wasting our time having him as the coach.
This doesn't make him a bad coach, just not the right coach for the Flyers at this point. - TheFreak
I think he was the right coach for now. But I honestly think his end is closer then some might think. |

I don’t honestly know what path they are on. Lol. To me it’s mixed messaging. I do know one thing. There is no ‘one” right way. I do know that in the cap world bad contracts compound the problems a team has. I know the Flyers have far to many of those. It’s easy to arm chair GM this team because of where they are.
I have seen some growth this year. I think young guys like York, Tippet, Farabee and Foerster have taken this team closer to “eventual success” or at least closer. These guys all have the potential to be very good NHL players that you can win with.
So ya it has to be baby steps….and yes Rome wasn’t built in a day…..and I agree as of today, I’m not loving the odds. - landros 2
Thing is, I too am seeing baby steps, but this baby is going to grow up to be a midget.

Was that a presser? Too me, that looked like the epitaph of a coaching career. Generally, when coaches start blaming players en masse, they are gone fairly soon thereafter.
If they collapse further, I think he is done. If they dont, I think he is done after next year latest. - PT21
Jones, Hilferty and the fans (outside of HB) are all still firmly behind him. Danny can't fire him and Torts knows it. He can do and say whatever the (frank) he wants. |

How did I do this to myself? For saying it is a bad pass that he took on the heal of his blade...He is left handed..If he took it on the toe of his blade, it would have bounced out forward away from him, instead it bounced back from him, off the back side of the curve near the heal of the stick. |

I figured it out if you look back, but I was trying to insert the pic to show, not just give a link, and when I entered the pic, it was just showing a broken pic, or a blank response. |

You sir, and I use that term very loosely with you, are being an as$hole just for the sake of it. I have had you do this before, and I refuse to interact with a piece of work like you moving forward. |

Who are you, Bill Nye?
I disagree. The way he has his stick angled (per my screenshot) the puck would absolutely shoot in closer to his feet. If his stick is on the ice completely (pee wee lesson) he may very well have skated that up himself and buried it for a big OT winner lol |

Yeah and I see plenty of sh!t flung from your direction on a daily basis here but sure let’s pretend you’re innocent.
You’re just like MJL. You refuse to engage people you take constant L’s from. I get it, it’s the easy way out. |

Just so you know, you're dealing with a poster that was publicly labeled a fool by Bill Meltzer. You really have to be a fool for Bill to publicly react that way. He claimed to have family working at a high level position on the Flyers and having inside info. While never offering a shred of insight on the team. I challenged him publicly and he went off on some drunken or high rant. Further establishing himself as a fool. He is now posting on his alt account and trolling to try and ruffle feathers. While being caught lying that he wasn't his previous account. He has no standing, no credibility and zero intelligence. He's just a loser. It's a good idea not to interact anymore. No reason to whatsoever. |

I do think Briere has very much be in rebuild mode since the start. Now, I would agree with anyone wishing more would already be done. However, Briere to this point has not boxed himself into a corner with any of moves. So far, he has taken on 9 million in cap with term left to acquire 2 1st rdrs. I know we'll never know, but I'm assuming the Flyers would have gotten draft compensation for the proposed Krug for Sanheim trade. I feel we will learn a lot more this summer- better or worse. He has a good amount of tradeable assets playing in the NHL that with the success of the season make it more possible to make trades happen.

They are behind him as long as he can play drill sergeant who browbeats his troops into fighting glory and brings fans into seats. As soon as such collapses occur, and they don't make the playoffs, he is just a drill sergeant who browbeats his troops.
And after that image takes root, he is as good as gone. My personal guess is that this will be by end of 2045-25 season latest (I agree with Landros2 that the end is in sight).

Look, all I heard was publicly disparaging other players on the team to make a point about one player while you’re being paid by the team is “(frank)ing embarrassing” 😳 |

They will rally around the nice guy new coach. Torts will be the sacrificial lamb that they all bound together against 😝

Torts is a puppet who tries to make the team watchable and brings in viewers while Comcast-Phillies try to convince many people that the south philly complex is economically viable. They are floating a plan to build it up, they are trying to get Sixers to stay etc.
They need vendors there to report good sales, they need substantial traffic there, they need to convince multiple parties how profitable the whole place is.
There is not going to be any fire sale - PT21
Not implying fire sale, but similar to what we saw this past off-season, where Hayes, DeAngelo and Provorov were moved. I can see more players that Torts has labeled as having "no balls" in games like last night being moved this off-season. |

What grinds my gears is the examples you gave about the young guys SHOULD be the focus for the future. Instead we hear from fo about seeler extension walker trying to sign tk maybe playoff push etc etc etc. while frost is yanked in and out brink is somewhere near team some guys come up from the ahl some don’t. In and out while nd rp seeler cam coots etc get games and ice and in game situations others SHOULD be experiencing now to grow
Doesn’t reek of rebuild but rather status quo as seats are filled and let’s go flyers chant screams from the stands.
I do hold out a little hope tho. Very little |
