Honestly, do you think Frost had a good game last night? - jd250

23-5 Corsi with Tippett
21-8 Corsi with Foerster
13-3 Corsi with Konecny
Give him a winger who doesn't have one foot in the glue factory, and the Flyers will have the puck a lot and eventually score.

Yes, this is an interesting question. I am pretty sure Frost and Farabee are topping the list. Everyone was calling Frost a hero last night for tying the game, and I'll give him credit for playing pretty much the final 3 1/2 minutes of the game and getting to the net front to bank in the rebound. But before that tying goal Frost has not having a good game, only 1 shot on goal. Farabee looked to me like he was just going through the motions. I'm sure there are others as well, but not sure who they are. - jd250
I am sure torts the GM will get a return on whoever those players are. |

He was fine last night. Scored a big goal to tie it. He screwed up in OT. Minus the screw up I thought Frost was fine last night. - mickel25
The little man is lashing out because he can't blame Tort's 20th overtime loss as coach of the Flyers on Travis Sanheim.

I don't think many had a good game. TK wasn't very good either. The list is long, and Frost is not the only one, yet, as usual, he is singled out by some on here.

Not sure what would be more entertaining, but I see a few scenarios that could play out here:
1). The Flyers flame out of the playoffs in spectacular fashion. The coach, only knowing how to do one thing, tanks the trade value of the players he thinks have no balls. In the offseason Danny is once again tasked with unloading another round of players at a disadvantage.
2). Despite struggles the Flyers limp into the playoffs, but are quickly dispatched due to a breakdown of their defensive play. Ownership gets a taste of playoffs and vows “never again” Snider style and Danny wheels and deals for defense this offseason.

Not really a fair question at this point, but does anyone see Jaime Drysdale as a potential 1D? He's fast, and has an NHL shot but so far...he's just another guy. Are we doomed to comparing him to what Cutter will bring to Anaheim? - DANCER
Right now, no but this is far from a complete work. Kid is barely of legal drinking age. |

How did the experience Atkinson has benefit the Flyers last night? What do they need? This mythical belief that Deslauriers can prevent funny business from happening? Or some offense from a talented player such as Brink? - MJL
when did torts say that?

Frost's line was by far the best line all game long. - Feanor
Tippet was skating hard the entire game IMO. TK was off and on, and I think a lot of that has to do with he is fighting through injury. I don't think the line as a whole did a lot, but they did have flashes here and there. |

The good thing is that Briere is already stuck with a bunch of dead cap and bad contracts, so I doubt he's going to be OK with doing another Hayes-style deal. Johansen, Petersen, Deslauriers and Atkinson are all buyout candidates.
LTIR - may never play again
Ellis - 3 x $6.25m
Risto - 3 x $5.1m
Dead cap
Hayes - 2 x $3.57m
Buyout
Angelo - 1 x $1.67m

I am pointing out Frost and Farabee because I thought both played extremely soft last night. But I agree, they were not the only ones. For example, I will give Drysdale a pass because it was his first game back and he still played 20 minutes and was instrumental in the tying goal. But he was also clearly protecting his shoulder. |

They're not making the playoffs so here's 2 ways the offseason will go.
1. The light comes on and they realize they are nowhere close to being one of the top teams of the league and they legitimately do what they said they would do and rebuild. Or..
2. They think that being the first team outside of the playoffs makes them closer than what they really are they make moves to be a playoff team but build to become a contender. |

He is on the roster. Gurianov-RyJo-Brink. Coots is out I assume. Sit Atkinson and ND. Can't be as crazy as playing a goalie that has been in north america for 12 minutes.

Next year they have a few more players in LV with some promise that will join Tippet and Foerster, Drysdale and ????. Michkov comes over the following year and the team has real cap space for free agents, most importantly they have the most important commodity, goaltending.
