So you play Varly or sOrOkin against The Preds? I’m going with Varly. Just don’t know the career records of each tender which might skew my decision. |

At least a succession plan. Best bet is to have Lou stay on as President with a new GM. Lou can be a mentor and then retire as President after a year or so. Hopefully the Islanders make the playoffs and then big plans need to be made. |

I have been a Barzal basher for the last few years. Stating that he has does not have what it takes to be in the upper elite of the NHL. He is slowly proving me wrong!!! He has been that and more. I am happy to be wrong on this one.
On another note, Sorokin has had an off year. Not we as fans were expecting. First two goal last night were bad goals. |

Barzal has been good. Bo has certainly helped. Lou's timing could have been better in addressing the 1st line.
Sorokin has not been helped by the defense this year, but Sorokin has to clean up his game in terms of bad angle goals and rebounds.

While I agree you can't let that 2nd goal in the guy placed it perfectly. There was what 2 inches for that to go in? Was a good play and Dobson was also weak on his stick too |

I would have to see the goal again, but going back to last year, Sorokin has given up bad goals. I remember it happened during the Canes series. |

That goal was unreal. From picking Dobson to banking off Sorokin mask.
I think hickey commented on it last night that players were banking shots off masks more frequently and goalies need to make the adjustment. We’ll see if Sorokin learns from it. |

Felt it here in NYC on the 8th floor of our building. Whole office shook for about 30 seconds.

Reminded me of 2011. I felt dizzy during that quake. Thought it was my MS acting up. No dizziness with this one. Felt shaking for about 10 seconds.

Man this team would have had a spot secured if they could hold a lead late. That late goal vs Philly was a killer - Upstate_isles
I feel Philly isn’t the team they will be competing with for the last 2 spots.
Also I enjoy the meaningful games in April but I’m not expecting too much even if they make the playoffs.
As a fan I would rather them miss than get swept in the first round. Especially if it’s the Rags.

I am all for them making the playoffs. If I thought Lou would actually do the right thing and retool I wouldn’t be. I think we know he’s not going to so (frank) it. We get swept if we make it so be it. Maybe it’ll inspire changes other then throwing this mediocre lineup out there hoping for something different. |

This is the key. Management cannot think all is well if the team makes the playoffs and are out in the 1st round again. This is not a young up and coming team that just making the playoffs is a win.

That’s exactly what they think and will continue to think and do as long as they are here. It’s literally their strategy. Make it in and, “you never know”.
Here we are may as well hope for the best. |

They cannot complain then if fans get tired of a bubble team.

Yeah, we’re actually in 3rd place now. Crazy
Another crack at the Hurricanes would be ridiculous. I’d rather play the Rangers. We’ll probably (frank) it up tho 😂 |
