Fedotov looked absolutely in over his head tonight. Should have been an easy win, but Flyers can't finish and another goalie with a .789 save pct. WTF!!!! |

Phantoms getting close to the playoffs. Not bad considering 2 of their top 6 Dmen sitting in the press box watching Johnson and Staal play. |

Really don't think Benson had anything more to learn playing against teens. - Tomahawk
Yeah it’s not so much about learning as is fine tuning. And growing physically. And maturing mentaliy. Can these young guys play whole nhl season and work on these things? Usually no. These aren’t generational players. Just think it’s kinda mistake to make them nhl ready this young |

Organizational malfeasance IMO.

This season has been fun but I'd rather we would have gotten a top 10 pick.
Sean walker = flyers success
How sad is that?
It's disappointing to see us not be able to beat cellar dwellers after we gave some top 10 teams a run for their money.
As all Flyers fans say.... .our motto.... maybe next year - Bob Habib
Like niskanen was the savior. lol.
What would’ve been more fun would’ve been frost not Richarded around. And brink not in and out. And players like York given more pp role. And players like zamula ginning attard given more minutes.
But hey like some say these young players surely learned more by getting Richarded and not playing and watching team fight for playoff spot.
I’m sure they learned invaluable lessons watching seeler and Johnson and staal and nd and rp play late in season and start overtime’s.
Yeah what’s the difference betweeen real growing pains and picking top 7 or so and the level of that pick compared to whatever this is and picking 15 or so or later |

It will come down to caps/flyers on the last day. The sky is falling for those who claim to be logical or level headed but the Capitals, Red Wings and Islanders are doing their best to throw their seasons as well.
I do think there was something to Torts comments about having balls. The Flyers outplayed Buffalo (a better team than I believe they’ve shown) but I saw panic in the Flyers game once the Flyers pulled the goalie. With this said, Buffalo smoked the capitals a couple nights ago. So maybe we aren’t the worst of the teams fighting for that last spot. |

Prediction for final standings in East wildcard and 3rd Metro:
Caps- 88
Flyers - 88
Isles - 88
Pitt - 87
Wings - 86
Buff - 81
Caps take 3rd with more regulation wins than Philly, Flyers 2nd wildcard over Isles with more regulation wins than Isles. Flyers lose last game to Caps in OT. Wishful thinking, I know. |

The Flyers could lose out and still make the playoffs, this is crazy. - Flyers_01
Has any team in NHL history slipped into the Playoffs on a 10 game losing streak? |

The red hot Russian is in net tonight👍🏻 - Stayin alive
It seems a bit desperate to me. I’d have come back with ersson in the back to back but we’re missing the playoffs so might as well give him a good look the rest of the year. I would be shocked if we dont lose badly tonight. |

Disappointed, the Flyers came out with plenty of energy and were working hard to generate chances, but once again they have no finish what-so-ever. To put it another way, offensively the Flyers couldn't turn a screw in a brothel. Add to this they give up 3 goals on the first 10 shots after two periods and that completes the story. One point in the last 4 games against inferior teams; as Terry Murray would say, the team is choking. |

How many times can the Flyers use the old “we outplayed them but ran in to a hot goalie” excuse?

Yes, he really looked like he was ready for NHL hockey didn't he? Just another example of some people on this site who have no clue about the game of hockey. To think a goalie is going to come here from KHL, get brand new pads, have only a few practices with the team and somehow carry the team to the playoffs. It's a joke! |

the flyers are just as inferior. you act as though the flyers as this real good team. They are really not much if at better than the teams they are losing too; except Montreal as they are bad.
is it choking or just not as good as you want to thin they are? little bit of both |

Actually it is you that is showing that you don't know hockey. That you still don't understand sample size. You also show that you have a reading comprehension issues. As nobody has said that he was ready to or was going to carry the team to the playoffs. You continue to only look at the points in games that fit your narrative and ignore the rest. Such as the way he played in his first NHL action. Just like you ignore OT games.

Look, I am under no delusion that the Flyers are nothing more than a bubble team. But there is a body of work here throughout the season where the Flyers have played really good hockey and beaten top teams. On top of that, 5v5 the Flyers are controlling these games, but their lack of finish and their putrid PP has done them in.

If the Flyers lose today and PIT wins, there will be 3 teams w/83 pts and 2 teams w/82 points (inc DET), it doesn't get any tighter than that.
If WAS doesn't make the playoffs they are going to kick themselves as their 5 game losing streak coincides with the Flyers 6 game losing streak. |

Now you care about sample size? It was you on Monday night that anointed Fedotov ready to play and calling me a fool for even suggesting the Flyers should give him more time to practice with the team and break in his stuff. It was not wise to start Fedotov tonight IMO. |

The Flyers sit 5 games under .500 currently, They have lost 6 games in a row and 9 of their last 11 games. They're 24th in the league in G/GP and 18th in GA/GP. In normal years, with they're record, they'd already be out of the playoff picture. They're not and never have been the team you think they are. This coach has never been the coach you think he is and all of your Jack Adams talk. There are rumblings that Tortorella might be done after this year. One can hope but I doubt it.

Yes, he showed last game that he was ready to play in the NHL. Notice I didn't say he was ready to lead them to the playoffs. LOL. I have to ask you if Fedotov needs more practice and needs to break in his pads. Why is the coach that you have anointed as the Jack Adams winner last year and this year, playing him? Does he not know what you know and that he has to break in his pads?

He’s not going anywhere. The Flyers will likely be even worse next season and Tortorella provides the side show to keep them in the news. I imagine next year will be his last though. |

Last year 3rd in the Metro had 107 points. This year 3rd is going to be roughly 20 points less, maybe more than 20. The Flyers current point totals would make them 5th or 6th in every other division except the Metro.
That should give everyone a better picture of exactly how bad the Metro is this year and to question really how much was improvement and how much is a mirage created by a dumpster fire of a division.

Most likely not going anywhere. Have to see what the Flyers do. How they approach the off season in terms of being better or worse in 24/25.

Is it possible that one of these teams nabs a playoff spot with less than 90 points? Why am I getting this queasy feeling that the Pens are gonna come out of nowhere and sneak in? |
