So NJD, Wash, Pitts, NYI can all finish better than they have played this year. If they play better, they will get more points.
So NJD get Markstrom this summer, they go on a tear to start next year with Hamilton back too. Carolina should be even better as they appear to have found their goalie, plus if they sign Guentzel. A full year of Roy in Long Island should improve the Islanders.
All these teams can finish in the high 90's to low 100's next year.
The Flyers can be better and finish low- mid 90's.
They are still behind those other teams, but have more points than this year.
Quite simple really. - TheFreak That's a lot of assumptions by you. I agree that the Devils will most likely be better next season and the Canes are good anyway, but I don't see any reason to believe that those other teams will be any better next year than this year. Pitt is just an aging roster that hasn't been good this year despite staying healthy. The Caps are a roster in flux and the Isles are stale. What is Roy? Has he ever proven himself to be a good coach? |

You're so completely full of poop. You can make assumptions such as "My point that you refuse to see is that those goals prolly don't go in if the Sabres goalie was in the Flyers net." but if someone else makes an assumption. You call it out.

The Caps are a roster in flux. They all could very well be in the same spot or worse next year.

Bunch of blind homers I guess. Some of the shoddiest rebound control I’ve ever seen. Seeler f bombed him for everyone to hear for his asinine decision to play the puck when Seeler had it on a platter. Doesn’t look like he’s fighting enough through screens. Looks rattled in traffic. Keep playing him but not good so far |

He looked lost...like he would give up on tracking the puck with traffic in front and just hope that the puck hit him.

It's going to be a learning curve for him. It's a shame the flyers have no real backup goalie they can count on.

I disagree that he was terrible. The first goal was essentially a breakaway with a highly skilled player. Even the best of NHL goalies get beat on breakaways. The 2nd and 3rd goals were snipes from skilled players in the dead slot. Not impossible saves but not egregious either. Horrendous defense and really good hard, well positioned shots. The 4th goal, I have an issue with. He lost his technique and folded in his right leg losing his butterfly position and exposed the net on the rebound
You didn't answer the question. Do you know what a 2 way deal is? - MJL
he wasnt...Buff's 2 & 3rd goals, the player came straight down the middle and picked the corner from between the circles. The broadcast showed a camera angle from the opposite end, essentially, the shooter's( Quinn) POV. Skilled NHL players hit that spot in their sleep given that postion |

In my opinion, the Caps will push a bit for Ovi's goal scoring record...they have some cap space and mightmake a final push for Ovi to become the all time leading goal scorer.
Carolina is a great team that has actually under performed this year due to injuries and Anderson's blood clots.
Yes I believe Roy is a great coach. He did well in Colorado until he wanted to much power on team decisions. The Islanders seem to be playing a better game under him, and a proper summer and training camp with him and they should be improved. Sorokin has also shlt the bed lately. I have said many times, I wanted Roy as coach of the Flyers.
Most of these teams have under achieved this year, and the Flyers have over achieved. |

Oh yeah! "My point that you refuse to see is that those goals prolly don't go in if the Sabres goalie was in the Flyers net." is the absolute truth. Factual and indisputable. LOL. Like I said earlier, you're gong full blown moron again today. |

Especially when give the time and space that the Flyers gave them. Not impossible to save but not bad goals either. The only bad goal was the 4th one.

He's supposed to have the agility and quickness to make those stops. They were from pretty far out, so stop the damn puck!!

They weren't from pretty far out. They were from the circles in the middle of the ice. In a very deadly area of the ice and they were well placed hard shots. They weren't bad goals. On one hand you say if you pick the corner you're going to score and then say he has to stop the dam puck. LOL

I was referring to shooting on a shooter tutor which I have done (they were popular back in the day). If you pick the corner on a shooter tutor you are going to score. That dude reminded me of a shooter tutor as stiff as he looked in goal. |

What are you talking about? The Flyers are going to build around Tortorella's guys. Poehling, Laughton, Hathaway. Players with balls! Tortorella type players. That's a good start to any rebuilding team.
- MJL
And coots…. Absolutely a 1c. Absolutely you give extension. You absolutely BUILD AROUND. 6 more years to go |

LOL I understood your idiotic point. You're just wrong. The highest percentage of goals are scored from the middle of the ice, especially on shots that pick corners. They were quality shots from high danger areas of the ice.
