If DET, WSH, & MIN all win the games they have in hand the Flyers will fall into the 12th draft position. That’s huge as a lot of draft rankings have at least 1 of the D that have 1D upside available still at 12. And who knows, maybe they get a stroke of luck and win the lottery getting them to #2. |

1-8 since Coots was scratched. Tuning Torts out since? - TheFreak
Rangers mutinied on Torts before he was fired there.
Torts said Sather called him into his office and said something like "You've lost the team John. You're done." |

Wasn't it through the season ending interviews that players were refusing to play for him the following fall? They called in Torts for his review and let him go.
Something like that.

You and a few others I've seen, make a good point. I can see how scratching Coots could cause a lack of confidence in some of the younger players.

Nobody left to bench either. Think he shows for the post game presser? - Flyers_01 Hilferty still pay the hefty fines? |

I get the feeling that the Flyers would get rid of the players.

Hanky basically threatened to go UFA if they didn't get rid of Torts.
Torts was really (frank)ing w/ Brad Richards then too, IIRC. Dude was really respected. |

They should do it like Milton in Office Space. Just stop paying him and move him out of his office. Fire him without telling him. Sort of like he sits guys with no explanation. |

Ersson has played more games this year than in any year of his career previously and has done most of it since Hart has been gone. He’s probably just hit a wall. Additionally, the team hasn’t been playing well in front of any of the goalies. Remember, BOB hit a wall in his rookie season. So I haven’t lost confidence is Ersson moving forward. - Schmojo

What are the odds that two Philly teams going strong would enter a prolonged freefall right before playoffs in the same sporting season? - PT21

https://www.cbsnews.com/s...or-tortorellas-dismissal/
A source told the New York Daily News that "multiple players” and some “top guys” wanted the coach gone. According to the New York Post, "Sather had no intention of dismissing Tortorella ... until a critical mass of players informed the GM that the coach’s overbearing personality had become a roadblock to success."
Good luck with that happening on the Flyers. I doubt the flyers brass cares at all what the players think. If it did the lack of communication with Coots regarding his benching would've had consequences. All they care about is that Torts puts people in the seats and that's the name of the game for Comcast.

Lmao! Funny thing is until we got ND last year, the Flyers fighting majors were down big time for several seasons. Ironic that during this abysmal stretch, the games haven't been feisty. Maybe Flyers hockey would be a boost during difficult times

Oh good. Tuned into the game finally, followed by a glance at the standings. Out of the playoffs and down by 4. This really is panning out to be the worst case scenario. Didn’t sell off enough players for assets, just barely miss the playoffs, played vets over youth in a failed attempt to make it to the dance. Just ugly. |

DB needs to get rid of both. The problem is even if DB wants to get rid of Tory’s will he be allowed?
I like Farabee be he needs to do more he isn’t a leader type of guy. Maybe he needs the extra time from his injury last year. If I need to add him in a trade to get a high return I trade him. TK is gone.
Nic D gone.
Risto I would want gone but who knows what is injury is so you are stuck with him.
That’s for starters. |
