That’s probably not achievable but 12 is a possibility. If the Flyers get into the top 13 they should get a really good prospect. The draft by publications seems to be 12 deep and someone always goes off the board. - psuhockey
Yeah, they need a push from NJ to get to 11. I fully expect DET, MIN, and WAS to pass them fairly quickly.

Blaming the goalies is such a typical lazy fan response. Clearly shows you don’t know the game. Been that way in Philly for 40+ years now.
This team isn’t good. That’s a fact. They’ve been in a playoff position for so long because the Metro division sucks this year. Everyone upset right now just bought into the fools gold all season long. Long term, this losing streak continuing through the last 4 games would be the best outcome. They need a higher pick to hopefully find a true #1D. Finding elite talent is the only goal at this point and being a bubble team doesn’t get you that talent. I don’t want another 2014-22 stretch where they’re just in endless mediocrity. - Schmojo
Goalies have been atrocious. That’s a fact. But the team isn’t good. So there’s that too. |

I don't know about WAS. The Flyers have the longest losing streak in the league, WAS has the 2nd longest losing streak but they do have 2 games in hand. |

Caps have a nice setup tomorrow. Against OTT @ home with Sens on a back to back. Flyers don't beat MTL, that last game against the Caps could be big for all the wrong reasons.

Based on this teams play lately I think it’s time to focus on mock drafts instead of watching any more games.
I’m not sure this team beat a AHL team at this point. |

Torts went from "...there's no sense in talking about the PP... that's not the part of the game that needs to be talked about here..." to talking about the failed 4-min PP being a key turning point the very next night lol.

Rangers mutinied on Torts before he was fired there.
Torts said Sather called him into his office and said something like "You've lost the team John. You're done." - Tomahawk
Richard’s hated the man. Even Callahan was on board with him getting fired. They hated the man and the way he was treating players.
But, Briere and Co give him another 6 shooter so he can expend all the same bullets next year. |

With Torts being nearly a lock to come back next season who is getting shipped out? My money is on Farabee at the moment followed closely by Frost. |

I gotta agree with you on Farabee
To be honest Ive hardly noticed him on the ice the majority of the season and Ive not been a Laughton fan for a very long time - probably one of the minority here on the board in regards to him.

I know many roll their eyes when the PP comes up and the response is its not worth talking about but being realistic what combination of players on this years roster was going to strike fear into any opponent about taking penalties
Adding Drysdale at least gave a much needed element of a defenseman who has potential to be another quarterback on the blue line in addition to York. Tippet is only going to get better and both Forester and Brink have potential as well. Frost being branded as the playmaker had stretches where he was but not consistent enough in my opinion of being that 1C on the top PP
This team with this PP team was going to get mauled worse than an Easter Ham in the mouths of hungry mutts if they somehow sneak into the playoffs with this roster. I absolutely expect changes next season and Ive said on here before that the playoffs would be a bonus but some of these guys in my opinion didnt play to their hopeful potential down the stretch and I dont accept "being gassed" as an excuse. The team that hoists the cup at the end of the season has "gassed" players too along with many playing through injuries.
With this team its not the losing that has me bothered its going down with a lackluster effort in the past week against teams that shouldnt have walked away not only with a victory but with as much as a margin as they have
Again just my opinion - Im sure the resident experts will tell me Im wrong to think that |

Happens all the time though. Teams that look to be overachieving, that don't have the fundamentals, that go by on fighting spirit etc, often dont fall gently. They often crash and burn. |

Cut the poop. I believed the Flyers were making the playoffs. You believed the Flyers were making the playoffs. We were wrong. Much like Torts, you’ll never admit you were wrong but I can, and I’ll do it for you. A lot of people wrong at some point this season. - roenick97
Fortunately I wasn’t one of the blinded fans. Been saying all year this team is poop. Not by their fault. They need top end talent. That’s the new nhl. It’s amazing they stayed in it this long. And it’s equally amazing just how bad other teams performed for much of season to allow flyers to hang around. |

Torts coming back for next year would be awesome. They are going to suck no matter who the coach is. Sneaky tanky move bringing torts back to a locker room that despises him |

Agreed
Always agreed with the philospophy that one needs to taste losing before they can go onto win
Listening to Boucher towards the end he made some very good points about the 2010 team and the level of experience that helped them that season and I dont disagree with him that the experience of actually fighting for a spot in the playoffs for the younger players is going to help them more than if they had never gone through this
I know there is a popular opinion that the experience line is a cliche or oversold but I disagree with that notion - at some point in time these players need to be pushed and learn what THEY need to do to be a better player in the league
Thanks for the reply! |

Long term it matters zero if they make the playoffs or not. If this team actually wins something in the future most of these guys aren’t here. Talent talent talent

Just missing the playoffs, and a mid round pick.
Rebuilding. The Flyers way.
I’ll get a good laugh from all the fools that will be paid to tell us what a good season it was.
