Not defending at all.
The flyers pushed him way to hard. The lack of talent and torts sitting frost took a toll on coots because of the racking up of minutes.
But coots could have spoken up and didn't. He is a true hockey player, pkau through pain and injuries. Which I luv about hockey players. Just at some point he could have spoke with the coach and said cut my minutes a bit. - WhiskeyMan
Knowing his past history the organization has a responsibility to protect their asset.
How do you know he didn’t speak up to some extent?
Bottom line is it is an organizational failure to not limit his minutes and have a plan of action to ease him back. |

Crosby tied Gretzky for most consecutive seasons averaging a point per game. I think it's 20 seasons. He's an all time great but not the GOAT - MJL You seem to have lots of opinions on how not to do things. If you want credibility tell us all your solutions. Who would you trade how would you acquire elite talent. Essentially what’s your game plan. You have taken the the time to study the salary cap so I’m assuming you have put the same dedication into how to fix the Flyers. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

draft and develop is all he parrots after his dad said it. |

An acceptable offer for konecny is two 1sts from a contender or a league wide top 10 prospect and their 2nd. |

Maybe the point is that the Flyers will be paying Coots to be a 1st line center when he's even older than Crosby is now and that was just never going to be the reality that Coots could do that.
Generational talents can play into their late 30s and be effective. OV, Crosby, etc. That's not Coots, never was. - Flyers_01
that wasnt the point |

Good lord I knew Myrtetus was a bag holder for the Flyers but I didn’t realize he held Tortorella’s jock. |

For anyone who missed it in the last blog...
This team is crap without a healthy Couturier. We saw it all last season, and again this season since Couturier missed those games in January with an undisclosed injury and then started to really struggle. Torts isn’t coach of the year in 23-24 anymore than he was in 22-23. The major difference was they got 40ish games of Couturier playing at a high level.
Flyers in 22-23: .457 P% (26th)
Flyers this season until Couturier got hurt on January 12: .595 (12th)
Since then: .471 (23rd)

I just want to know what the point of sitting Attard and Ginning is, when the Phantoms are also fighting for a playoff spot. - MBFlyerfan
It is mis-management of epic proportions on all levels....First, we are rebuilding so naturally we sit 3 rookies and play the oldest d-pair in the history of the league. So if they are not going to play the rookies, shouldn't they allow them to help the Phantoms get into the playoffs? Afterall, of all the bullpoop they spewed this year, making the playoffs is absolutely vital to development. |

Absolute insanity that up until January 12th where he got injured against Minnesota, Couturier played 802 minutes and Frost played 471.

I don t think Briere can get top prospects along with the 1st rdr for TK. Carter and Richards were already locked in long-term. TK is under contract for ,1 more year. I would assume a G type return. Arguably Tippett at the time was the Cats 3rd rated prospect. Worked out pretty well. |

I would use the brain power to guess at an acceptable return for TK but they aren’t trading him. So I won’t bother. |

One difference I will point out is that there is no NMC where Konecny can dictate where he wants to go. This would hopefully open up many options.

lol, Torts for pushing a lot of right buttons, had pushed all the wrongs ones lately. That said, we keep saying they are losing to lesser teams and that is not really true |
