Zip was poop 5v5 this season. Thats a fact
Zib has been much better lately 5v5 and more engaged. That bodes well for a playoff run.
Kreider has been fantastic this season despite his center being crap for a lot of the season. Kreider getting any sort of grief is absurd.
Jones is one hell of a skater and puck handler.
Another good win. Keep that poop rolling into the playoffs. - mdw7413
Jones has opened my eyes more than anyone as far as someone who I thought was useless prior to this year lol. Whether it’s development or what I’m not sure, but he looks like a keeper now. I traded him about 72 times up until the TDL |

What gets me about Zib, and the majority here, is how little appreciation he gets. So he hasn’t scored at will this year but I’m not sure any 1C plays harder minutes than he does. PK1, PP1, shutting down opposing top Cs, is a lot for one player to do. And he does all of that other stuff extremely well. He’s having a bad year goal scoring but has it really prevented anything team wise? We’re about to win the prez trophy so no it hasn’t. All I know is he’s as valuable as any player you want to name and we’d be equally (frank)ed without him in the lineup as those other guys. He’s as big a cog in this thing as Panarin is, but doesn’t get nearly the amount of recognition for it. - Slimtj100
See the problem is I'm talking about 5v5 not the other stuff you mentioned. And again he seems to be much better lately. If you cant see how having him being invisible 5v5 going into the playoffs is a huge detriment to the team, I don't know what to say. All the other team has to do is match up against Panarins line and we would be (frank)ed.. I'm pretty sure saying we would not do well in the playoffs if that 1st line isn't going, is recognizing how important he is to the team.

Well said, Teege.
I pulled up some stats to wade further into the Zib is fine/Zib is struggling/Zib is struggling at 5v5 debate and was pleasantly surprised to find that with this latest little run he's on, he is close to being within 10% of his averages over the last 5 seasons. Both in points per game and percentages of points at EV/PP/SH.
So, while I was prepared to defend him, it seem like no defense should even be needed!!
Again, all this is secondary to the fact that we all know that this all means nothing if we don't show up after April 15th. |

I wanted him traded because he didn't look like there is a spot for him on that side, but yeah, he's been a lot better than I thought he was. Looks like more confidence with the puck. Hes always had the wheels. |

TJ! My man
My problem with zib is he almost never changes up anything he does and it’s resulting in things that used to work not quite so much anymore. 2 on 1? Saucer pass no matter what. 1 on 1? Go wide fake a big shot and try the cute little slide through the 5 hole. If he just shot it on a 2 on 1 ONCE I’d be thrilled. Agree on the other poop he brings to the table. - picklerick
He’s played 140 something minutes on the PK this year, and we are top 5 in PK I’m pretty sure. Not many 1Cs are playing that much PK that’s for sure
He’s teflon to me, he can do no wrong in my book.

I don’t give a Frank who sucks and who’s good. They could bench Zib and Goodrow can score all our goals. As long as the win the playoffs is all that matters. Can care less who is playing the best 5v5 to be honest |

Jones was the Fox of Hartford last year, was he not? I'd imagine the impact of that responsibility at the penultimate level has a lot to do with it, as well. |

That goal last night was sweet. It’s like he didn’t think and just shot it. He could overthink sometimes or is just unselfish |

lol, yeah. For numbers on Zibby's true impact on this team we need to see a comparison of his stats vs. Brassard's over the last 8 seasons!!! - Tonybere
Top 3 trade in franchise history I reckon |

Also, truth is you were not a fan of Zib. You were a keep Hayes guy over Zib when there was that decision to be made. I think kreider has had a great season, statistically the exact season as Zibanajad. |

He was. What I'm saying is that Laviolette and his staff should get credit for Jones and Laf now producing. Because we all thought Laf could be good. Some of us though Jones could be good. The fact that the two coaches before Laviolette missed so badly, should get Laviolette all the credit. |
