I have heated with wood in every home I’ve owned, one house had a wood furnace with my hot water tank attached to it.
Now the down side is getting the wood, splitting the wood, stacking the wood and then constantly bringing wood into the house. I can bring a few trees down on the property but I’m down to my last 3 cords and I have decided to sell, so if you want to travel from Kitimat to Metchosin you can have the remaining rounds of Arbutus and Douglas Fir.
