i think they played over their heads all season with hard work but sometimes hard work only gets you so far. torts is probably a good coach and i'm sure a lot of the hard work was a result of him but his shelf life is real short (and i kind of hope he's gone after the season). i don't know if the benching of couturier was the final straw for the rest of the guys but i kind of doubt it, i think they just ran out of magic.

the problem with flyers fans (and a lot of hockey fans in general) is that instead of saying "wow, we were entertained all season when we expected to be out of it by new years", they're just going on about what's wrong with the team and just generally using sports to justify their miserable life.
