ruff won 2 playoff series in the 8 seasons behind the bench after he parted ways with the sabres - homiedclown
I like Lindy's style quite a bit . And he is entertaining as hell.
He isn't high on my list though.
Now, on the other hand, former Sabre players believe he knows the game inside and out and believe he is one of the best in his knowledge of the game.
Given my new found I don't give a poop about getting their long-term coach now... get someone who can advance this team forward to change the perception of the organization, then I'd be ok with his selection. I am not certain he would be highly regarded as he is there in Buffalo. |

The locker room clean out comments from Tuch are disgusting.
He’s becoming unbearable. |

The devils this year had a long laundry list of injuries and no goaltending.
Hard to blame Lindy

The leader of this roster is not yet on the roster. If they honestly think so, they are in bigger trouble. - IonSabres
Adams commented that he believes in the core of this team and wants to add grit to the bottom 6......the difficulty in that situation is, like you've stated, the stench on the organization is still pungent. Who would want to join this team in a bottom 6 role and be the backbone for an embarrassing organization?
One guy won't solve this, and Adams is still too in love with his players to make the hard decisions he talks about so much.

I have a few thoughts on the grit and toughness area, but I will just be told there Knuckle daggers or can't skate. |

Dahlins comments
He threw Granato under the bus but then was like “oh it’s the players fault”
Yeah. Sorry Dahlin. I see through your comments about Donny and not practicing hard |

I'm not telling you he always gets what he wants. I'm not even telling you he's good at his job. That's subjective anyway. What I am telling you is, when he tells you something, he does it, or at the very least attempts it when it comes to player acquisition.
There's 32 coaching positions in the NHL and there are guys clawing over each other to get them.
I think if it's 2014, you have little interest because you're brought in to specifically fail. This team has a ton of talent that's been poorly structured. I would think a lot of NHL level coaches would be highly interested in this roster.
He will find an experienced coach. I can guarantee you that. Beyond that, all we can do is hope it works. - TheSabresTaco
Adams being good at his job is subjective?
Isn't he subject to the same result the coaches and players are, which is making the playoffs minimally? |

With Granato being fired, I can finally move past my disillusionment for this franchise and care about prospects again. - TheSabresTaco
Adams is still the GM, and he's had an even longer tenure of no success then the coach he just fired.
Might want to continue with the disillusionment. |

Ya know, Paul Maurice was Señor Average in WPG, Jim Montgomery was a recovering alcoholic and Bruce Cassidy was a total Richard. These guys get a different roster, have different oversight from their GMs and their teams become extremely good.
I find that interesting. And a lesson in change of scenery can do wonders. - TheSabresTaco

Quennville loves his vets, so he would be a good reason to have him.
Now that Kane has proven his high level utility, his contract value will follow.
Hell, bring him in as 1RW and push Tuck and Quinn down. I'm in.
Then go sign Stamkos in FA.
Lastly, Package the 24-1st, retain 40%, throw in a prospect and move on from Skinner's $9m
THAT is how a good org would do it.
Peterka - Tage - Kane
Benson - Cozens - Tuch
Kulich - Stammer - Quinn
Greenway - Krebs - Rosen
??
Byram - Dahlin
Power - Samuelsson
Johnson - Cliffy
Bryson
UPL - Levi - IonSabres
That 4th line is an abomination - and the defense is too soft. Stamkos at 3C when he is still clearly better than Cozens is bold - could be interesting.
This would be interesting I think its still too soft though.

Yes and having Good gritty players on your Team is even more essential know than even the 90's. See I am not the one stuck in the 80's or 90's, because our opinions on what toughness and grit are is totally different. My grit can actually add to the Team and stick up for players, yours trips over the Blueline before it happens |

Timo Meier for 8 million had 52 points and a -28.
Welcome to the eastern conference where it’s much more open hockey. |

Quenneville it is. He is desperate to get back into the game, will take less $ and be open to accepting a role in a risky organization. - washedup20
The NHL will have nothing to do with this. |

OK, NJ dealt with a lot of injuries and bad Goaltending so I have been told here. Plus he was part of that injury bug and only played what 65 or so games. Being in the Eastern Conference has nothing to do with it. |

Does hiring Quenneville incentivize Kane to sign in Buffalo next season?
Or is Kane, who would've been 4th on the Sabres in points this season after only playing half a season still considered broken and useless? - washedup20
Not getting hired to any NHL team, regardless of his desire. Bad optics. That whole management team from Chicago will never see the light of an NHL team again. |
