Hi all. Long time reader (on and off since 2008), first time poster. I feel like I know a lot of you pretty well based on reading your comments for many years. I was 8 years old when the Rangers won the Cup in 1994 and remember being so happy. I haven’t been this excited and optimistic about a Rangers team since then.
First off – Jan, I think you are a great blogger and I sincerely appreciate everything you do for this community. To me, you are extremely unbiased and don’t get too high or too low and remain level headed. Objectivity is your greatest strength.
I know the comment section can get heated at times. Unfortunately, it is the actions of a few that bring everyone else down. I promise I will try not to add fuel to the fire. I will make comments and tell people how I think they are acting, but I will try not to engage in any fighting.
Bottom line is this is a public forum, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just because someone has an opinion, that does not mean they are dictating how everyone else should feel. We are all individuals that want the same thing – for the Rangers to win the cup. Some of us are optimistic, some of us are pessimistic. That doesn’t mean that any of us will be unhappy if the Rangers win it all.
Tom can be controversial, but who cares if he likes charts and analytics? He still watches the games. Others are right – charts do not impact the game outcome. There are many other factors that impact the outcome of a game. However, they can be useful as a tool to evaluate how the team and certain individuals played. He is expressing how he views the team. Nothing he says or does impacts the decisions the front office makes. You don’t like what he says? Ignore it. Simple.
TJ – you drive me crazy during trade season, and I mean that in a loving way. Not asking you to change, just stating lol. One issue with you is that you say you “hear” something and grasp onto that and take it as fact, when all you did is hear it from another random anonymous poster on a message board for fans of another team. Just because another fan would be OK with their team trading a player does not mean that the other team wants to trade that player. And all your trades involving Goodrow – not sure why you would think he would waive his NTC to go from a top seeded Rangers team to a bottom dwelling Sharks team. Think reasonably my man.
Lastly, Jimbo. I respect your views (as well as everyone else’s that post here). I always appreciated back in the day when you would post everything under the sun related to the Rangers from Twitter. You would literally post it here within a minute (sometimes seconds). I came here to get all my news because you would aggregate it all here for me lol.
But, Jim, you need to take a chill pill. Your feud with Tom ruins the experience here for everyone else. You just can’t let things go. No one says that you have to like charts or agree with anything Tom says. But you act like a child whenever he says anything. He does not attack you, you attack him. Just stop. Please. You get fixated on things and will just not let it die. You also have a tendency to create all these straw man arguments where you take one thing someone said, bend and twist it, and argue against that and hammer it ten feet into the wall. For example, the Panarin Game 7 OT winner you posted the other day that others said they weren’t excited to watch. That is their opinion. No one ever said that you were not able to enjoy that. But you made about 10 posts saying that others said you can’t enjoy that. Bottom line – everyone can have their opinions. Stop acting like a child and getting upset when someone doesn’t think the same way as you. End rant.
Anyway, looking forward to posting more. - banger94
Thank you, great post, Jim hates you now.
BTW stick around, TJ will be posting some new trade proposals soon!!!!!
Exclamation points just for TJ!!!

Don’t disappoint me. You came out of the gate real hot. Great acquisition by the blog for the playoffs I hope |

can you elaborate on what this is in your mind I’m fascinated - picklerick
Again, it’s the fact that when we’re having a hockey conversation, his trolling with the charts kicks in. Anything anyone says, he has a chart for. My point is, those charts (and his use of them to try and prove his point endlessly) are complete garbage and last night is a perfect example of that. I think everyone in here can agree we didn’t deserve to win that game. But one of the charts he uses to justify his stance on things says we should’ve won that game 70% of the time.
3 different ppl can all say,
“I thought so and so had a really good game”
“Ya he looked great last night”
“So and so had one of his best games in a while”
And then here will come tom with some stupid chart saying that player was the worst player and the ice and just post chart after chart just to stir it up and get ppl to argue. He’s been doing that for as long as I’ve been on this blog, how some of you don’t see it I don’t know. Maybe you haven’t been around long enough to know the true Tom and his intentions. It will only get worse from here. |

How would you rate that quake on the Richter scale? Over/under Bure penalty shot save? I'd say under. |

Its funny, people complain about a guy posting a chart or saying the Rangers suck. Isnt this what the board is for, discussions? Why do you think the Rangers suck? Why does the meter say they should have won but lost? Nope, Just the charts suck. |

Take a look at what the code for the emoji reads as in the composing window. That is what you need to type in. For instance is "colon" "lol" "colon".
Oh, and welcome.
Your initial post was spot on. I've lost the ability to say it without it getting angry. So, it is appreciated. |

I heard OJ is allowed to stay alive because the coffin didn't fit.
But seriously TJ, I hope you didn't view my comments as an attack on you. It was constructive criticism. I think you bring good debate to the table.
And yes, agreed lurking could be considered creepy, but that was my style. I've opened up recently. |

See, ur missing the point. U want to talk about a player sucking, be my guest. I’ve done it plenty. But when a player is playing well and we’re all saying he’s been playing well, he’ll find a chart to say he sucks. If a player looks terrible and we all say he’s been terrible, he’ll find a chart to say his analytics say he’s been good. Again, the win’o’meter is just the example I’m using as to why those graphs are charts are meaningless. We win 70% of the time playing the way we did last night?!?!? Sign me up!! The charts know better than what we all watched last night. |

I’d like that just as much as you, I just don’t think his skating is there yet. He also scrambles a bit in his own zone for me to be comfortable with him getting 15 minutes a night. |
