They should be closer for sure but there's still ways to go before we get there IMO.

meh, they shouldn't be very far imho, they've lost the most games by 1 goal in the league this year, with some legit secondary scoring a lot of that could easily turn into more wins.

We are -50 in goals For/Against ... we are one of the worst teams in the East for goals against. Not trying to be negative but it's a fact.

Lots of improvement are necessary.

oh I get it, and not making the playoffs next year wouldn't be a major disappointment, but I think they can talk about it at the start of next year and at least try to be in the mix.

and personally I don't find the +/- stat necessarily gives the whole picture, as they've been rather competitive for the most part throughout the season.

we'll see what happens, let's start with this summer, a lot of good things could be done there too

it certainly is one of the most reliable one though. look at the standings, look at the +/-... no secrets.

Shootout loss ... oh well, not the worst outcome in the grand scheme of things.

bah, it can fluctuate so easily, with more consistent goaltending and with healthy players coming back that should contribute to scoring goals you can get a very different situation.

Yep ... I'm sure Marty and the gang will look at improving this.

The main reason is the lack of scoring .... we have the least goals scored in the East this season. Even Colombus has more than us.

I think we all know what HuGo will be working on this summer ...

CORRECTION: After tonight's game, Colombus has one less goal than us, my point remains though.

Yes he did ... I have no big expectation from him but it's nice to see him perform. I still think he's trade material though.

yep, they can't send him back to Laval next season. so either he makes the team or they trade him. I still see both Mailloux and especially Reinbacher ahead of him.

Just in case no one noticed yet ...

We could use a 2nd line ...

- Garfield512

Yes, but I really like the newhook / armia / gallagher line, that could be a solid 3rd line next year.

I like Newhook, we're stuck with Gally's contract and Armia is only performing because his contract is running out. They're playing good right now so no complaints from me.

Armia need to be let go ... he's in it for the cash only, we don't need guys like that.
If HuGo gets something reasonable for him ... he's gone.

to be fair, that's your assumption. not saying that you're wrong about it, but there's also a strong possibility that he was actually struggling with confidence issues and that he's playing better because he finally managed to deal with that.

This is definitively my own opinion but I believe his age just doesn't fit in what the Habs are building.

We could get similar performances from much younger (and cheaper) players to play on a 3rd line.

he's 30 years old lol... it's fine if you're fed up with him and you want him traded, I get it, but his age isn't an issue whatsoever.
