Did you notice Frost when he was playing? I sure as hell didn't. In fact, I barely noticed him at all down the stretch in general. He is a soft player that simply doesn't have the competitive fire and you can't teach that. I did see him smiling on the bench last night though, so I guess he was having a good time. I hear he is a helleva guy though.

I thought we were talking about Poehling and how noticeable he supposedly was? Let's stay on subject here.

What happens with Atkinson, some bad trade worked out or bought out? - WhiskeyMan
Neither, you suck up the bad contract for one more season rather than waste assets moving him or pushing the cap hit into future years. Same with Johansen and Petersen. And, that’s not just what they should do but what I think they will do. One more half-hearted “rebuild” season and then at least one if not two major FA signings for 25-26 and the rebuild will be over. |

One thing I noticed from reports last night, Laughton was very emotional, almost like he know this might be the end of his time in Philly.
I can't see Philly turning down a 1st rounder again if they get that offer. |

I would also add Attard and Ginning should have been playing. There was not a need for Staal to see the ice or even be signed.
And your right, there wasn't a need for Johnson.
Playoffs or not, you should have been riding with the youth and seeing what transpires. - J35Bacher
Only the naive thought this year was about rebuilding. Rebranding year? Sure, but not rebuilding.
Even former 94WIP Morning Show co-host Jonesy will admit that when he's being honest.

didnt back read so, what a glorious night. My guess is Hilferty and the 3 stooges are strutting their feathers regardless thinking it was a successful season.
- Do the Co/GM and the Co GM/Coach have the "balls" to say Rocky will be relieved of PP duties today and we will be looking for a PP coach than that would make my day.
- While he may get traded anyway I hope Frost asks for a trade. Along with another plyer or 2. Hope the flyers get nothing back or a mucker for pure entertainment.
- does danny boy really think torts is what they need? What really love to know his real thoughts.
- cant wait for fan boy hilferty and the spin from the other band of misfits.
- this team is so far away and what did this "rebuilding" year really accomplish? Do not see many gains being made at all.
- what does MM think from afar? |

Rigged game Torts pulled the goalie in a tie game when they were already eliminated with the tie in the Detroit game. That was more crooked than the soccer games in the Italy league with Juventus a couple of years ago - saintdog19
I have zero sympathy for Red Wings fans - if you really wanted the Flyers not to pull their goalie (something that everyone should have anticipated late in a tie game), then maybe try being ahead of Montreal by, say, 5 or 6 goals late in your game. Besides that, you had all season to get 1 more point in the standings, and you couldn't do it.

I do have confidence DB will make the moves to move forward, TK being the 1 I am concerned with. Slightly worried Torts antics force DB to trade other pieces to soon, again. |

You couldn't have dreamt up a more fitting way for the Flyers season to end than Torts sending out a 4th line grinder to try and score a 6on5 goal, and then that grinder falls on his ass at the blue line gifting the Capitals an empty net goal. - Feanor
That was an Amac level ineffectual flop.
Batting the puck out of the air right to Oshie was also a big brain move. |

I agree the PP needs better coaching, said that a few blogs ago, should have been more clear, was just making the point the scoring issues on the whole, are not on Torts, we all knew the team would struggle to score. - wcorvette
did he help matters? did he put players in a position to succeed? |

TK will get his deal. Farabee and Frost will be moved before Laughton. Keep the "noticeable" guys. That's how you win.

why would you have confidence? what has he done to gain that?
so if torts "forces" him then how can you have confidence in him? |

And had the Flyers pulled out the win, Detroit and Pittsburgh would be happy. It is what it is. |

Maybe if they get one of those dangly balls that some people put on truck hitches and put on the Zamboni that will help. |

All this would be terrible.
Laughton and TK should be moved. For all the complaining about Couturier's deal, the Konecny deal will be worse.
Moving Frost would be a mistake. And Farabee can be a solid part if the rebuild right.

Just like the Flyers, if the Wings and Pens had earned more points it would not have mattered.

If Briere had any "balls" he would be thinking about moving on from Torts. Not sure how you can sit in your office last night without thinking "is he REALLY the right guy for this?"

I hope I am wrong but history points to the Flyers trading the younger, less "noticeable" players and keeping the vets.

Pretty much what I am worried about. To sign TK, has to be hometown discount and has to be in concert with other moves that move them forward, or must be traded.

Honestly, let's be fair. Players like Hathaway and Poehling play their asses off and do what they're capable of. My issue is how the coach over relies and over plays them. That is not on them. That is my issue.

I agree. I do not want to down play Hathaway. I like him. I just would not play him ahead of Brink in a game that goals will be tough to come by. Especially if Brink did nothing to earn a benching.
