I think I stopped collecting like in 91 or so, when I was at university.

When I got my first real job, I started looking for rare books I was missing, but never got back into it... they changed so much and then started over and blah. I was lost.

One of my high school friends actually wrote X-men and teen titans and a frw others, for a while and another was one of the artists on batman and super man

Mine is not mint, so... but it is a 9.4 near mint.

Remember, when I was buying these, they were selling for like $100-$300, which was quite a lot for a book back then in high school working a weekend job.

it really did. a lot more real. marvel got into more gritty, real feeling stuff way before dc did. i never really liked dc comics as much.

I've never been a comic book fan but I (frank)ing loved those x-men cartoons, they weren't necessarily dark but just the intro and the music at the beginning was like cocaine for kids.

when i was a kid my uncle stopped by with a box of old comics that he was gonna get rid of but thought me and/or my brother might like them. and i dove right in. i loved spider man but i never really had any comic books before that. all kinds of stuff was in there. there were real old ones in there too that said they were originally 12 cents and stuff.

i reminded him about this a few years ago and he doesn't even remember giving them to us.
