I drew Toronto in my buddy's pool

I would never be caught cheering on Toronto, even if I won the $1000 prize.

We only got 1 season from him, but it was great. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep it in his pants in Edmnoton and his wife didn't like that. Hence the abrupt trade 1 year into his 5 year deal.

Wow the Oilers fans are back, we must not have played recently.

Preds have 9 wins in the last 15 games, Canucks have 8. It’s not really the hot streak they've been talking about on some programs. Canucks have owned them thus year, i see no reason why we can't take them in 5 or 6. Whether we get through round 2 is another conversation.

Their prospect pool is already better than anything the Canucks have had in 50 years. They will be fine in a couple seasons.

Bo is too soft to get that club past the first round but I do think the Isles will win a few games. If Carolina stays healthy they will be very tough.

You insist the bubble playoffs were legit so Bo was a beast in the playoffs then. His goal lead went well into the CF... He was also the Canucks best player in the playoffs during his rookie season. He played with more heart than anyone

Funny how fast the team turned around once they traded him.

You don't think the driving force behind that was the the turn over of the D and all the depth adds to the forward group along with the coaching staff? Canucks were showing signs under Bruce already with the old line up but it was as far as it was going to go under him...

You tried the "passive captain" narrative the other day but it completely fails because they still have a passive captain.... even more passive actually.

It's obvious as the nose on your face, the mass roster changes and impressive coaching staff is the reason this team is doing so well along with young core maturing. JT Miller finally reaching his potential is also a big part of it... Not simply a player leaving.

I'll suggest the room changed (for the better) once he was sent out of town.

Spin that anyway you like.

The bubble PO's were legit as any other. The anti Benning Green crowd want to discredit it for what they were as they had success. And I gave full marks to Bo if you recall for his play in that run he was unreal. Bo played with 'heart' for a time but ultimately he ended up being a huge disappointment as Captain amongst other things. Is what it is.

Yep it's not a coincidence IMO. Turns out Bo was one of the bigger issues in the room the fact the club is so much better W/O him speaks volumes. Guess the players got sick and tired of being punched in the face while their Captain skated to the bench for a change lol

100 percent correct as we saw with the results this year. Can't deny it.

They've been talking all season about how their additions have added a wealth of leadership and character from the low depth players all the way up to the coaching staff. It's ignorant to "spin" that it's simply a case of a player leaving. The spin is all yours.

So you are saying that this team isnt getting pushed around as much because their current captain wont have any of it and steps up right away to defend team mates after cheap shots etc.. ?

These claims are getting better by the minute.

A sensible person would look at the additions and head coach and see the shift there... but nope, it's because of their new hard nose captain.

..and? What does Hughes do in a situation like that? Stands off to the side while someone like Miller Z, Soucy, Joshua, etc etc takes care of it.

How is that any different?

This is likely what happens but I don’t expect zero from Hughes. We’ve seen him scrum a wee bit

It is what it is??? You just completely contradicted yourself. One post says the complete opposite of the other about him in the playoffs.

He's been to the playoffs twice if you count the bubble. Was impressive as a rookie and a beast in the bubble(since you count that).

Let's just stick to what we know. You are not in the "room".

...and we've seen Bo drop the gloves and fight several times. There's no fkn way Bo is as passive as QH. With that being said, my point remains that toughness and leadership is a team thing and everyone better hope I'm right because we are (frank)ed if their idea of leadership comes down to how tough and physical your captain is.

We're talking about his leadership abilities (or lack thereof).

The "room" appears to be much tighter since he was traded.

Of course. Look at the new vet additions that are known for leadership(Cole comes to mind for one) and players ages reaching the mature years. How the hell could it not be?

You don't think a core of young players hitting their mid 20's should show more maturity than when they were in their low 20's and teens?

Unreal.
