I like the way this team is now, not so much under Horvat's watch. - VanHockeyGuy
Horvat was not the GM.
Wow... how can someone just dismiss what this management has done other than getting rid of Bo? This team is so different now and trading Bo was a significant part of that as far as the cap and trade acquisitions go. But to stubbornly stick to the narrative that it's because Bo isnt in the room mostly is way out of touch with what we've seen this season. |

Bo was/is a crap leader imo. I don't give a (frank) if you agree or not.

We're talking about his leadership abilities (or lack thereof).
The "room" appears to be much tighter since he was traded. - VanHockeyGuy
Yes. It's also better since the price of gas went up.
In other news, the room is much tighter since Miller stopped being a selfish wiener and made leaps and bounds in his maturity since RT took over the team. The room is much tighter since RT has used his influence right across the board. The room is much tighter since adding players like Cole, Soucy. The room is much tighter since players like Hughes, Boeser, Demko, Hoglander, Petey all have aged since the trade. The room is much tighter since a new competent management made a massive amount of other changes. The room is definitely tighter with JR/PA being able to put a great group together. |

I'm not arguing that he is a great leader. I'm arguing with someone who is dismissing the multiple reasons this team is a much tighter group. |

..and? What does Hughes do in a situation like that? Stands off to the side while someone like Miller Z, Soucy, Joshua, etc etc takes care of it.
How is that any different? - boonerbuck
It's different because the dynamic of what's expected comparing players like Bo to Hughes as captains is also very different. Bo had the ability to be a much better leader and play to his toughness but chose not to. Hughes leadership qualities are much different in many regards as it has shown this season. Where Bo had the ability and strength to Captain much differently Hughes isn't expected to be the same in that regard given his playing history. |

That's all reasonable... honestly. It also supports what I have been saying to you for years and years about the captain doesnt have to be a tough guy and team toughness can make that stigma moot. You are more or less presenting the argument I have countered with from day 1 when you non stop insisted the captain has to put his hands and head on the line when something happens to a team mate.
I know you love that pic that keeps getting posted. Garland is a fist magnet for a positive reason and I'm happy to see the new players like Joshua, Z, Soucy etc jump to his defense after something happens. One player you are not going to see do that is the current Captain. You saying "ya but" like you just did contradicts years of you arguing what the captain has to do and negatively judging people who more or less say what you just did about the man who wears the C. A fighting captain isn't a must. Hughes is doing an impressive job and all the while his gloves stay on. This team has had an infusion of big players who can happily take care of that role and this is the point I have been trying to get through to people since the Sedins retired(and while Henrik was the C).
People are so near sighted.

Alberta is over 70% coal powered electricity. BC sends a lot of poison gas to Alberta to be pushed down old oil and gas wells just like Alberta does to themselves... completely destroying the ground water.
I am not worried about eating wild meat here in BC. I supplement my diet with a lot of wild and home grown food that is healthier than what's on the shelves at the supermarket, I'll tell you that much.

My goodness, it is 34° Celsius in the valley today. Just watching the first playoff game on the back patio with an ice cold Dos Equis Lager Especial and a beauty of a cigar, Don Pepin - Nicaragua. |

The bubble PO's were legit as any other. The anti Benning Green crowd want to discredit it for what they were as they had success. And I gave full marks to Bo if you recall for his play in that run he was unreal. Bo played with 'heart' for a time but ultimately he ended up being a huge disappointment as Captain amongst other things. Is what it is. - LordHumungous
Except for every player who says it wasn't, but keep holding on to that I guess |
