They can clearly play with these guys. For much of the game, they were the better team. Just gotta make good on their opportunities

It suck’s to play good and still lose. Anderson’s rebound control was superb. Fluky goal loses it.

His rebound control was terrible in the first period and some of the second. Our goal was a result of his failure gather a rebound.
Unfortunately I think the Isles helped Anderson find his game with some poorly placed shots in big opportunities. By the third he was locked in

Interesting stat, coming into this season the Canes were 14-0 with Garrett Rank officiating.....

To me, the most disturbing trend is that BarHor were largely ineffective today, much like last season's series

Firstly, Canes played like ass for most of that game. Figured it out for the third. Dobson got pushed around a LOT that period.

Secondly: you guys totally got jobbed. Refs were horrid.

The Canes were very savvy at making sure the refs would see, or at least think they saw, infractions during last year's series. Slavin did that a couple of times today and it worked.

Still, I think the Isles robbed themselves more by not finishing their chances. A lucky bounce was the difference in the end. We'll see what version of each team shows up for game two

Canes didn't look like normal and if they step it up that's a tough game to lose. That said isles played well and had some good quick breakouts to counter their forecheck. Stating the obvious here but gotta win game 2

Isles did a good job of not getting hemmed in early. If you can keep the Canes from establishing their forecheck you're in good shape.

They started attacking Dobson directly as the game went on. Curious about that.

Yea they did but overall isles played well. Canes went to the net and got a greasy goal as a result. Isles should do that more. I think if pressured dobson can make some bad turnovers and that they want to wear him down when they can as he's dangerous offensively
