It doesn’t matter because they have to make alternating penalty calls every 5 minutes

Inevitably what’s going to happen is the wrong team is going to take an actual penalty during or immediately following one of these nonsense power plays and they’ll be forced to call it and piss off one side or not call it and piss off the other, and each team will have a legitimate reason to be upset. There’s no benefit to calling a game like this
