He seemed what Morrisey, and others were trying g to aspire to, but never had the chops, the avant garde, or mind for it all. Creative genius.

I would site David Bourne as a close comparison as the Talking Heads were relevant.

The only other drummer I can think of that also sings is Roger Taylor from Queen. I saw them live at the Montreal Forum at the end of the 70's ... amazing show.
