I know we all want to draft a forward.

But let's remind ourselves that not drafting the BPA for positional need is usually something you regret down the line.

Odds are Habs picking

6th : 44%
5th : 24.5%
7th : 14.2%
2nd : 8.6%
1st : 8.5%
3rd : 0.3%

Let's assume they pick 5th or 6th and Celebrini (of course) and Lindstrom are gone, what do you think they do? Use the pick to draft who? Trade down? Try to move up?

I say they use the pick...hope Lindstrom slides, if he does not, they pick Iginla or do they dare to pick Eiserman.

a pck is never a sure thing, and it would not help us before 2 or 3 years. Zegras is the right age to join the core. no brainer imo.

Yup.

Kent Hughes plan to grab every good player drafted in 2019 is well on it's way.

"no brainer" indeed, as long as the asking price makes sense... but judging by Hughes' track record so far I doubt he'd make a serious overpayment at this point in time, the worst case scenario is that he hangs up on the Ducks and looks elsewhere instead.

BPA, if things being pretty equa between several players at your pick, then positional need.
