I would consider this a decent choice if the song “I Believe I Can Fly” was playing at the same time |

I see that some Vancouver fans want to fire Mikheyev into the sun. I guess that signing might not be as good as first thought. - shack67
What's their beef with Soupy?
I must confess I haven't seen a single minute of the Canucks this playoffs, but his stats don't look awful. Don't look great, but don't look awful.
As an aside, the NHL stats people really need to work a little harder.
Canucks have 12 guys who have played both games.

Bzzzzzzt.
The correct answer is Gonna Fly Now by Bill Conti, from the Rocky soundtrack. |

Vancouver fans are a lot like us, they’re hard on their players. Some of them don’t like Petterson either, sound familiar? |

Isn’t that too old for current NHLers?
Well… I guess it’s only 48 so at least his parents know of it meaning it’s possible he heard it as a kid |

Likely a Wotherspoon/Shattenkirk 3rd pairing tonight.
If Willy is playing put him on the 3rd line and let those top 3 lines tear that pairing apart. - Santo_44

Dallas fans had a message for Mark Stone and his miraculous recovery just in time for the playoffs ... the boos were relentless.
Why Dallas Stars fans are booing Golden Knights captain Mark Stone this postseason

That sure is good for the NHL image ... their 2023 cup win should come with an asterisk. |

Who cares? Any team in the league can do this if they did a guy willing to sit out. The end.
Also if Dallas can’t control a guy who’d be as rusty as him they deserve to lose to Vegas. |

I care, why have a salary cap at all if you can circumvent it like this?!? At least two of the last three cup winners have had some "good fortune" go their way allowing them to dress a team well over the cap.
That being said, I saw an article saying Vegas' game 1 roster was $750K over the salary cap, while the Leafs were $1.5M+ over |

The cap doesn’t apply to any playoff team. That’s why.
Perfectly fair because any one of the playoff teams can do it. |

His speed leaves you wanting more. Every now and then it clicks and you think there's the next Mike Gartner (Mason Raymond/Michael Grabner/Kasperi Kapanen etc.) and then they fizzle into some middle-6 sludge. |

You guys are too obsessed with control.
The cap does not apply come playoff time. Every team knows this at any point of the year. They’re following rules, not breaking them. |

Putting a healthy player on LTIR just to activate them in time for Game 1 of the playoffs is cap circumvention and is not "fair."
Of course, the league would have to prove that Mark Stone miraculously recovered, but it is such an obvious and blatant strategy to circumvent the cap that it's beyond ridiculous.
The simple solution is: lineups should be required to conform to the cap ceiling in the post-season. End of. |

I'd like a cap raise for all teams at the TDL.
Would make for more fun trades and better players in the playoffs. |

There’s no cap whatsoever in the post season so no, it is not cap circumvention.
Sorry but a fan’s feelings mean sweet (frank) all to a business and that’s a good thing.

The only reason the cap exists is to make the league far more competable for a playoff spot. That’s it.
If every team had the kind of money the leafs do there would be no cap. |
